Do I GAF..........He's our coach until he's a looser! And I don't think he is!!.. Look at the three losers prior to CJH..!
Also, VOLNATON....Figure in NIL...The insanity of "Tunover" every year because of the NCAAA sitting on their ass and doin' absolutely nothing to prevent the chaos were in now...
Tell me a better Coach that has dealt with the "merry go round" of having a new roster every year!!!!

I know it's the off season but..........

LOL. An ugly win at uga tech and a home loss to Texas, this board will have him one foot out the door.

I voted 'good'.
To me, average means just that...average. Coach would be in the 33-35 wins area if he were average.
He's not great though. Great means he's won something meaningful like an SEC or Natty title, or at least played for one in six years.

Also, on this point, I think like @Unconditional Surrender pointed out, we are just used to bad and the fact that the last two years we have witnessed a coach do the near impossible in the sport and everyone else is now being measured by that yardstick.

Average.

Had a good run the first few seasons but teams have adjusted.

Roster management, time management, and NIL management makes me lean towards average now.

There are no excuses in this era.
I concur. I'm not sure that CJH is "special" at anything that would increase his performance above average. Maybe his ability to have a QB ready to play. Other than that, he's pretty blah. We could certainly do worse. But we could also do a lot better! It's sad that so many fans now don't even know how it feels to have an above average coach of our football team.

He's been "good", but trending the wrong direction rapidly. You can't keep lifting him up by the playoff appearance while ignoring the alarms blaring from last season. This is an extremely critical season that will reveal a lot.

Who you would hire right now to replace Heupel if he had to be fired or leave the job?

Heupel has been successful in taking us from below average to middle of the pack. We should commend him for that. I truly think Heupel is an effective coach for an average team. Gonna steal a couple games with the tempo. Unfortunately he will always be prone to losing some easy ones with that style, as well. He's a good coach and likely borderline great coach in the right circumstances.

That is an excellent question! Thankfully, it is not one that anybody on here is qualified to or will have to answer. I realize the question goes with the statement, "we could do a lot better". That is highly debatable and not a sure thing. But an AD's decision to part with a coach is very rarely made based primarily on the "who's next".

He’s just like any other good coach, give him the good players and he’s a complete success. Give him garbage and he’ll struggle. He’s done more with less talent than any coach we’ve had in my lifetime. Fulmer had talent already and when he lost it, went south.

Average coaches don't routinely run around with top five scoring/production offenses. Definitely not average, but also hasn't won a playoff game or an SEC title, so can't vote great either.

Also, he irritated Saban so much that Nick started lobbying to change the rules of the game.

That gets me to a "good" vote.

Would love to vote great. Hope this year proves he's ahead of his critics' estimates.
