See how the weather is that time. So unpredictable. Haven't looked ahead sooooo. Anyway Texas is a single game and then a different opponent as double elimination. GO LADY VOLS!!

Should be a great matchup. Both with very good #1 pitchers. They have better offensive numbers but hopefully our pitching will neutralize their bats. We have a good chance here, I look for a low scoring game, like our super games were. Play clean on defense, and execute when the opportunity presents itself offensively. I dislike Texas with a passion and I still resent that they were let into the SEC. Just my opinion.

I assume Texas will start their ace Teagan Kavan. She is currently 28-5. She has two losses to common foes Nebraska and Alabama.

In 2025 we saw her twice. A 7 inning shut-out 2-0 with KP taking the Loss. Only one run was earned on HR. Kavan also relieved Mac Morgan in the 5th inning in WCWS semi finals and got the save. ( KP had thrown over 140 pitches the day before against UCLA... while Texas was idle).

Rally Cap's Haylie Mcclenty said if Kavan is able to tunnel her rise and drop, we would have difficulty scoring. She also said we have the lowest run production of any SEC team remaining. Of course that was after the Alabama graduate, tried to walk back her pick of Georgia in the Super Regional. Her rational was "They (I assume she means SEC network) were just trying to hype Georgia."

When Mcclenty picked Georgia she said Georgia is 8th in D1 softball keeping RISP from scoring and Tennessee was 165th.... my Statistics teacher use to say there are three types of people in the world.....
Liars,
Dang liars,
and
Statisticians.

Amazing, given we are 6-2 against the field. I like our chances.

winning the FIRST game is essential to get to the final two. the route otherwise - as the LVs know after losing #1 is nearly impossible. a question to AI on if a team losing the first game has ever won it all?
