The kid from Cleveland, Tennessee that was 1st team All SEC his senior year (hardly played at all until his senior year). Led the 1985 team with like 10 interceptions............Chris White?

My pick was a 4 star recruit and went to the nfl for awhile but didnt really seem to get the love other players got. Probably because of the talent when he was here. Omar Gaither.

Arron Sears. Not completely unheralded, but forgotten far too easily. Flat out dominant. Forced to take over LT for Munoz as a true FR in a huge game. Never mentioned again bc nobody ever got to the QB. Straight to the NFL starting day 1 every game for 2 years, then a typical FB head injury ended his career.

Not sure if he was unheralded, but he always seems to be missing from the conversation of greatest VFLs. He was a four year starter for Tennessee when it was a rarity for a freshman to start. Top 5 player in the state his Sr high school year. All-State in high school, Freshman All-American in 1st year at UT, All-SEC his Jr and Sr years, NFL Special Teams Player of the Year, NFL All-Rookie, NFL All-Pro, three Super Bowl rings. He was the catalyst for the creation of a special teams roster position for non-returners. Hard to believe he was an UDFA out of UT. Farragut's own Bill Bates.

Great choice I think he picked off everything thrown his way that year. I'll go with another Sugar Vol, running back Jeff Powell

I don't know if they qualify as unheralded, but give me some of those fullbacks. Shawn Bryson, Troy Fleming, guys who had all kinds of high school records as running backs and then came in, took their assignment at fullback where they weren't going to get to be "the guy" most of the time ... and went out there and handled business.

And while I know he's not exactly unheralded, I do feel like Arian Foster does not get a lot of heralding. Rightly or wrongly, people really only saw the fumbles. But if 2008 had not been the year of "let's try the Clawfense" he probably would have gone down in history as one of the more notable names for Tennessee at running back. To go from 1100 yards to 500 in your senior year. What a waste of a year that was.
