Reynolds fired

I know the whole staff was learning their new positions on the job, but I'm not sure Coach Reynolds pulled any of the right levers this season.

I don't know if you can look at any pitcher and say he was better at the end of the season than the start.

Had Frank stayed, I am confident we would have at least hosted a regional as we likely win every series that we lost 1-2

Any chance frank will be a one and done in the mlb and come back? He doesn’t seem like a guy that would enjoy a major league schedule

Well, Frank isn’t the pitching coach for the Giants he’s more of a front office and development role. Anything is possible but I think Posey will give Tony more than one season to adjust. However, if Frank did get canned, that wouldn’t happen till late in the year and this decision for our next pitching coach will be made in the next few weeks.

Frank is close to retirement anyway, so I’m sure Elander wants to go younger.

You never want to be happy about someone losing their job, but this was the right move and it gives me a bit more confidence in Elander that he can make tough decisions. Good start to the off-season.
Agree, I get no joy in seeing someone lose their job but this seems necessary.

It definitely communicates mediocrity is not Tennessee’s brand of baseball. Our Pitchers as a whole lacked the head hunter mentality that FA was so effective at imparting. Great Job Coach!

Had to be done. Pitching was awful this season.

I don’t think he was ever E’s choice to begin with but was kept on staff because of the awkward timing of Tony’s departure.

My thought

Reynolds was set up by Tony and Frank to ease Frank into retirement, and maybe Reynolds needed another season or two of seasoing.

We likely needed to make the move quickly for the portal. I suspect there's a fish already on the hook
