The UNC - USC game yesterday was compelling. UT can take a lesson from UNC- if long contact isn’t happening, just make contact and go station to station. A walk-on reserve for UNC in the bottom of the ninth was at bat with 1 out, man on first and Carolina down one. He works the count to 3-0, then 3-1. UNC coach calls time, the batter walks down to the coach, pats the coach on the back and says “I got this”. Truth- you can read his lips. Count goes 3-2, hitter slaps the next pitch through the 3-4 hole to move runner to 3rd who then scored on a sac fly to tie the game. Game was ultimately won by Carolina later in the inning.
If Tennessee could have just had 2 or 3 of those singles or sac flies in timely situations last week, might have been playing this past weekend.
