Yes with a freshman QB throwing to him. He’s playing much faster. It looks like the offense is scripting plays for him specifically in addition to the regular route concepts he understands.

He looks Willie Gault fast. In the miked up video of himself and Staley, he catches a drag route and with zero wasted motion accelerates and nobody comes close to catching him. Willie Gault was a 4.2 or 4.1 guy. I think Mike is sub 4.3 and most importantly he’s catching it cleanly.

Derek Owings has transformed his body as well. He was always fast but his explosive ability is on another level this season. He’s turned from a long gain playmaker into a if you miss the tackle he’s gone type player.

I think he’s a 70 rec 1,300 yds 15 TDs receiver this season. And UTs 2nd Biletnikoff winner.

He looks like the best player on the field.

If they struggle to have someone take command of WR3 and none of those guys are super reliable (not saying unreliable just a large gap between them and MM/BS) I would expect a young QB who is probably handing the ball off a ton anyway to develop a lot of trust with those 2 and... I just dont see a ton of receptions from those other guys (I think theyll all be great next year). I could easily see a "screw it, MM is down there somewhere" type of year
