Anybody know what 3HL on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville stands for? I always thought it stood for 3 Hour Lunch, but the show runs from 3 - 6 PM which is not lunch time.

It's still technically 3 Hour Lunch, but they were moved to the 3-6 slot when Plaster bolted. They didn't want to change the name or didn't have a better one so they kept it.

They did joke after the change that it now stands for "3 Hours Later".

I think Plaster left and thought everyone would follow. Instead his station seems to be floundering and 104.5 is the highest rated sports station in the country.

3HL is the best option in Nashville. I wish 104.5 would upgrade the morning show - Mark Howard and Wycheck aren't very good.

One of my good friends does a lot of stuff for 104.5 so I get to hear a lot of funny stuff out of that station. My favorite show during the week is Midday 180, but I also enjoy Squared Circle and Sportstrend.

I really enjoy the morning show, actually. I also like 3HL. As much as everyone hates Clay Travis, I find him pretty amusing most of the time.

According to the March 2014 Nielson Ratings, 104.5 is the top dog of sports in Nashville. Ranked #8 of all radio in the city. They went from a 3.5 in Feb to a 4.8 in March, whatever those numbers mean.

The next closest sports radio is 102.5 at #19. Went from a .6 in Feb to a .9. Ironically, Vanderbilt's student communication radio was higher than 102.5 pulling a 1.5 in March rankings #16. And all they play is NPR classical. Suck on that, Plaster.

Apparently 104.5 has the best ratings of any sports station in the country.

Also sounds like Keith Bulluck is joining mid day 180. That should be good

3HL is ok; it's not so much I can't take Travis, but they just get off on the dumbest topics, many times that have little to nothing to do with sports. Which is probably why their ratings are so high, but geez.

The Midday 180 honestly is the best of their 3 main shows. I can't listen to their morning show long between Whychek and Howard.

Mini rant. 3HL is garbage now. They moved Blaine up to the wake up zone and brought in a woman co host to replace him on 3HL. This has nothing to do with men or women, it has to do with chemistry. Those three had it, these 3 don't. I'm sad I don't get to listen to 3HL anymore on my way home from work. It is just not near as entertaining.

Dawn Davenport has been in sports news most of the time until she took the morning news on WKRN 2 (ABC) in Nashville. She has done some part time sideline reporting for SEC Network and starting this season will be a full time sideline reporter for SEC Network. She is actually a very nice person. My oldest kid is a journalism major at MTSU and has worked with her for several years now.

I was just getting used to her on the morning news. Same with Justin. They're going to have to do something about the new morning weather guy. I turn the channel whenever he comes on. I know I'm not alone on this. I don't know if he's trying too hard to connect or if that's his personality. It's just feels uncomfortably forced.

The show has been garbage ever since Travis left and back when he was merely a loudmouth. Mickey Ryan was never a good replacement, and without Travis Dougherty and Bishop were just blah. I tried to listen to it for about 3 months after Travis left and just couldn't take it anymore.
