I wonder what conference holds the record for most members in the top ten for one week. Any ideas?

only because we're all gonna knock each other out of it and only one of us will probably be left at the end of the season (UT!!!!!!!!!)

They all might be until we beat them and knock them out.

Add ND to that top ten or 15 and our schedule looks tough. Not only does Phil have to play 4 new coaches and 2 tough away games in a row, we have 4 games against potential top 10 teams..... :gun:

Well, even if UT does go undefeated, no way would they be the only SEC team in the top 10 at season's end.

Someone needs to find out why they took SOS out of the BCS picture. Although, truthfully, you don't need to look much further than USC. I dunno. It just seems weird.

Teams will drop... I don't think UGA is top 10 quality this season, Florida has yet to be determined. LSU's main problem looks like pass defense but it looks like they won't have to face another good one all season.

ND won't be in the top 10 or top 15 by the time UTK plays them. In fact, ND is going to lose to Michigan State this week.

On SOS...

I think they figure SOS has some figure into the human polls, so they took it out completely in the computer part.

Kinda makes sense there.

Our top 4 teams could each lose 2 games and based on their SOS still end up in the top 10 at season's end.

You won't have that many 1 loss teams who would outrank a 2 loss Georgia or Florida or LSU. (Notice I didn't include us, since we're going undefeated)

If all of those 3 lost only 2 can you hear the cries at the end of the season about who deserves to go to what bowl?

yeah when we all play each other we knock each other out...

i think we are going to beat florida and lsu: because in florida the offence is not going to work. and in lsu there secondary really is gonna get lit up...

USC is the only high-ranker this season who's appeared to be dominant, but that's only after one game. Tennessee had a close call. LSU had a close call. Michigan got whacked. OU got whacked. Texas vs. OSU doesn't really count, as both were top ten. Weird season.

I doubt it. Except for maybe Florida, the SEC doesn't have a good enough passing team to exploit LSU's secondary like ASU did. They will remain strong.

I'm sorry. That is just incorrect. It's also untrue. ;)

Name one truly outstanding pass offense in the SEC.

Florida is like 3/4 of the way there if they continue their success. But that's it.

This may be a case of us both being right, but let me refresh the spirit of this conversation.

Someone said LSU will get lit up in the pass by us. You said No way; no one in the SEC is capable of doing so (besides maybe FL).

I say BS. What proof do you have that LSUs pass defense is great enough to shut UT out? Again, can I get any more capital BS?

In their only game this season, LSU gave up 461 passing yards against a team that averaged 317 last year against what is quite arguable on average "worse" competition than LSU should be. Where do you get that their secondary is so stout? And this is against a VERY, VERY mediocre rushing team.

You don't think that by establishing a run that LSU must defend, UT could, would, or should be able to open up the pass against a secondary that has proven itself so well so far?

SEcondly, what criteria will you use for an outstanding passing offense?

UTs throttling of ATM last year? The 274 yards they put on an underrated UAB this year? I think that you confuse our strong rushing ability with a lack of passing ability.

It gets old seeing you sell UT short.

Seriously.

? I still think we can win, Broseph.

And the story I got about LSU's pass defense being so good was the fact that practically every publication said LSU should be top-shelf at every position except QB.

I also firmly believe we can beat LSU. We will just have to find out a way to hammer it out on the ground. The Tiger secondary may not be as strong as expected, but I still believe ASU will be the only team to pass on them like they did.

This game should be straight-up SEC style. No fancy schemes or plays, you just have to get in there for 60 minutes and pound the other team into submission. The most physical team will win.

Fair enough. Like I said, maybe a case of us both being right.
