More than 40 Charleston Southern players, including their entire starting O-line, will miss tomorrow's game with FSU because the school gave them too much money to purchase books and didn't inform them that they'd have to give the extra back. Instead, the players used the extra to buy other products at the bookstore. God forbid players get free pencils.

How much money are we talking about?

The school has yet to confirm the suspensions. This info is all coming from players. According to a couple of tweets, some of the violations were less than $100. I'd have trouble believing that any of them are all that much unless CSU way overestimates the cost of books.

That's a ridiculous overreaction if true. Just have the players pay back for certain items. If they have to suspend 40 players, I think they should just forfeit because of safety reasons for the remaining players.

Even more ridiculous: they are suspended AND they have to pay back the money for the non-book items.

If they have to suspend 40 players, I think they should just forfeit because of safety reasons for the remaining players.

The money involved makes a forfeit impossible, but they need to play with a running clock.

If this is true then they may as well forfeit. Could be the biggest beat down in college history

If FSU plays their starters for more than one quarter it will show everyone how truly classes they are. The starters should play, get an easy couple of touchdowns and then it should be third string and walk-ons the rest of the way.

FSU will probably shoot for 100 if they get the chance. Nobody has done that since Houston beat Tulsa 100-6 in 1969

According to a statement, the number suspended for FSU is 14. Apparently 16 sat out over the first two weeks, and another 2 will sit a game TBD.

Interesting that they "suspended" 16 players over the first two games and no one knew about it.

Hugh Freeze and Urban Meyer are saying Aw Shucks -- we could have hung 200 or more on them

Huey Woodchuck would have gone for 300 if he could. Hope that POS get's skewered by the NCAA. I remember that crap score he hung on us at the end of the game down there. Wish the worst for him and old pi$$.

Yeah what made it worse is he pretended to be disappointed the kid scored. After the game he said hated it. I was thinking Hugh you don't have the victory formation in your playbook? He is a douche.

A certain irony that a school going maybe too far to rigidly enforce the rules is about to get killed by a team with no respect at all for the rules.
