How about that? Still think no team with a 6-6 record deserves a bowl? Just my opinion! Howeverm NO 5-7 team deserves to go! There were probably some 6-6 teams that didn't get bids that should have went rather than 5-7 teams. Was it that bad this year?

There weren't enough 6-6 teams to fill al the bow slots this year; that's why the three 5-7 teams were invited. The NCAA agreed to make it so that the 5-7 schools with the highest APR (Academic Progress Rate) scores were eligible to be invited to the remaining bowl games based on that score. However, they had to be selected in order based on that score.
Nebraska had the highest at 985.
Missouri had the next best score at 976, but they turned down the invite, saying at the time that they'd rather focus on finding their next HC instead (Pinkel had already said he wouldn't coach in a bowl game after they lost to Arkansas).
Minnesota had the next highest at 975.
Followed by San Jose State also a 975.
No one got passed over for this...6-6 teams weren't left at home. They needed 80 teams to fill the bowls, and the season fell short, producing only 77 teams that finished 6-6 or better.
