Spring evaluations cheat sheet

4. What can Butch Jones do in the spring to help him better the Vols' 2014 effort?
Tennessee surprised a lot of people with its stellar 2014 class, a group that finished in the top five. Jones wasn't afraid to go against big-time programs in the SEC for talent, and while he didn't win every battle, he believed enough in his staff to win most of them. Look for the Volunteers to continue that approach with the 2015 class. Jones' assistants are tremendous at building relationships with prospects and knowing which buttons to push. They'll do those same things in the spring to help position Tennessee for a strong recruiting run in the fall. You heard a lot about Notre Dame sending recruits hundreds of letters in one mailing, but Tennessee was doing that before the Fighting Irish did. The Vols are forward-thinking with recruiting and it pays off, so watch for them to roll out some new tricks this spring. Tennessee already has six commitments for 2015, and more are on the way.

The question, without reading the narrative, implies that the 2013 effort under CBJ was not what it should have been. That is just not correct. Last year's team played hard for CBJ. The question actually refers to the "effort" in recruiting. The effort in 2014 was indeed incredible. And 2015 has already started off the same. Even 2016 is going great.

Had Worley been healthy all season long, I would say the season ended with us beating Vandy and heading to a bowl game. At 6 -6 in the regular season and 7 - 6 with a bowl victory, I would be happy.....

Hurd's too tall to be RB, maybe can try him at QB

He's not too tall to be a big time sec running back. However, he might make one hell of a read option quarterback to. I don't know, however, if he can throw the ball or not. He would have to be able to throw it well for the qb scenario to work. I just don't know if he can throw it or not.
