5.) Palardy, Palardy, Palardy - Is this the same guy from a year ago? CBJ is doing a great job with special teams.

4.) Volnation this team put out a great effort yesterday. The problem is that now Volnation is going to have some unreal expectations against teams like Alabama (not that some on here don't already)

3.) Butch Jones called a great game yesterday. The playbook is opening up, and Worley is taking to it well. Hopefully, people will no longer be calling for the freshmen (or as I refer to it "The Peterman Project")

2.) We are going to see a different Neal running from here on out. Previous to this game, he has gone down so easily. It looks like he realized what an extra effort can do on plays. The rewards he gets of extra yards, and more play calls in his direction. He responded well today.

1.) We all already knew it. Pig can be special.

Agree with everything. I hated the way the game ended for Pig, but deserves alot of credit for how he balled out yesterday. North looked like he took another step too. Neal had a great game as well especially without Lane to fall back on.

Also, the 4th down calls were the two best 4th down calls I've seen in a long time from any coaching staff.

Love your observation about Palardy & special teams. He was a difference-maker yesterday punting. We clearly won special teams yesterday with his punting and the blocked punt. It was almost the difference in the game.

This is going to be unpopular for those of us on the "we're back because we had one good half against a top 20 team". But Kentucky has done this for the last 30 years. Found a way to lose the rare big win, every time. We had all the stars align for us for one half with injuries to all their offensive skill players and Worley getting hot, yet we still lost. I still saw the same lack of speed weaknesses on defense. Although the skill players on offense did well the 2nd half yesterday (and Worley seemed to get hot), I don't know yet whether it was us instantly improving (because our offense sucked the two previous halfs) or that we were playing a less than stellar defense. Georgia has been in a scoring shootout with nearly every team they played all year, good and bad. I personally need more than one half to decide "we're back" or we can beat anyone else left on our schedule. For me, it was just one good half that was a blast to watch, despite the ending. I did enjoy that they kept trying to win the game when down 17-3 and after the quick UGa TD that made it 24-17. But my expectation is still that we will be the underdog in every game from here out, including Vandy and Kentucky. Hopefully I get more data out of the USCe game to change my view.

Neal said in post game comments that during the timeout before the play, he was lobbying on the sideline for coach Jones to call his number on that fourth down pitch play that went for over 50 yards. Coach shows faith in Rajon Neal & Neal delivers.

I really like what we are building here, folks!

I agree with you on several things
1.)Things fell into place for us yesterday
2.)We have a lack of speed
3.)Some skill players are still questionable
4.)We will get a much better understanding from the team after the South Carolina game.

Some things I disagree with you on
1.) We will be an underdog to Kentucky? In one sentence, you say they always screw up. In the next, you say we are an underdog to them?
2.)I don't think we will be an underdog to Vanderbilt.

I understand you want to hold judgement for later to see if we continue to progress but dangnabit!!!! To say Vandy and espicially Kentucky to be favored over us is a negavol extreme. I know we have been down but Kentucky favored is laughable.

Yes, I probably went a little over the top on that part (but it was my 1,000 post so I got all excited). Since Vandy is at home and they seem to be heading downhill quickly, I'll call that one a win. Since Kentucky is on the road and they seem to be able to hang in there and keep it close with top 20 teams, then I'll call that one even.

the 2 most important thing I realized yesterday and hopefully the team realized is:

1. We can hang with almost anybody if we play hard for 4 Q's and limit our mistakes.
2. This offense is starting to gel as a unit.

No excuse not to beat Vandy. I was at the MO - Candy game last night and their defense is horrible. Couldn't stop MO at all, but the MO qb is a real handful. He will give everyone fits (especially us) and I wouldn't be surprised to see them beat UGA next week.

Loved the 4th down calls. That and Vereen and JRM were the highlights for me

Vandy nor Kentucky will never be in the game. As for Vandy last year is still eating at the players and fans. I would not be surprised to see this team hang 60 on vandy.

The only thing I disagree on is Palardy. I think Jones is helping, yes, but I keep hearing too many sources say he's had an injury that's been misdiagnosed for nearly two years that they didn't catch until this summer. One of those House level misdiagnoses that you only catch if you're lucky and can't blame on any coaching staff or trainer.

However it matters, I don't care. All I know is he looks like a legit NFL punter right now.

Interesting. I've never heard anything about a Palardy injury. Do you have any more info on this, sources, etc?

I was told it was a hip injury that one of the new PT guys found this year. I'd say who my source is but anyone who's paid attention to any of my posts throughout the past could probably figure it out. It is someone I trust though.

I vaguely recall something about this his first year. Never gave it much thought as i somehow interpreted it as being like a cramp or something.
