Jordan McRae 6-6 SG.
Tobias Harris, our PF.
Trae Golden 6-1 could be a PG possibly likes SG

Two transfers in
Jio Fontan a PG out of the Puerto Rico by way of the Bronx who did well on an awful Fordham team and

Former HS teammate of Vander Blue Jerrone Maymon a 6'6 SG who was angry to be playing Forward.

That would not be a bad group at all, but with Tatum and Hopson and Kenny Hall and Tobias Harris, what it seems like we need next year is a PG and another big man, not a class of 4 guards.

At what point does Scotty Hopson begin losing substantial minutes to Tatum, Goins, Prince, or McBee?

He's a defensive liability, doesn't handle the ball well, and fears contact like the plague.

Beav is this a serious question?

McBee is the only person on the team who plays some who I know could not turn the corner on me because he lacks the lateral quickness. He is one of my favorite players, but he is what Jordan Howell was supposed to be and was not.

Goins will not play SG. Aside from being 5 inches shorter than almost everyone, we do not have any depth at PG and we try to press still. Goins and Maze play PG.

Tatum, Prince and Hopson all can play SG. The problem with Prince is that he often cannot shoot. I would say that Hopson has lost some minutes to Tatum but with E Man going down we have moved over guys so that often times our interchangeable 2's can play as 3s.

A lineup I want to see on the floor is Smith with Chism and Hall with Hopson and Maze in the backcourt. I am not sure why Kenny is not getting his minutes.

Hopson disappears sometimes on a team where there are 4 seniors. Next year if he sucks then we will have a serious problem.

Perhaps a bit of a reach on my part, but all kidding aside, I really see Hopson as an overhyped, underachiever.

I'd rather have Prince on the floor than him (I feel dirty even typing that).

If Hopson doesnt have a wide open 3 hes not shooting and its for sure hes not going to drive the lane. Can he be great ? I think he can be but he has to get aggressive and that I dont think he can do.At some point in time Pearl either has to start coaching or just sit down and enjoy the ride. All I see them doing is if they dont score quick then they stand around and pass the ball around and whoever has the ball in their hands when the shot clock is under 5 sec. is the one who shoots. No set plays or nothing. This team can be dangerous but they play down to whoever they are playing.

Golden and Fontan would play the point. Goins would be a good 3rd option if we wanted a 3 defensive guard lineup like we did with Lofton, Smith and Smith

I love that idea!

I also think that Goins would be leaving just in time for Ware to play with a competent backcourt that can play defense which would be a good thing.

Vol in FL I also love 5 guys. Started eating it in DC, then loved it in Atlanta. Their greasy fries are almost as good as the Varsity

Are Fontan and Maymon just rumors or possilble scenarios? Or, is the some credible evidence that these two are joining UT. I saw the Maymon article and I think that would be a nice addition. I don't know a thing about Fontan and I didn't know we were trying to get another PG.

If nothing changes by the start of 2011-2012 season, Vol fans everywhere will be happy once again. Ofcourse I am confident with Kiffin competing for a title by then, but our basketball lineup could be great if guys stay around by then.

PG - Ware/Golden
SG - McRae
SF - Tatum
PF - Harris
C - Hall

Fontan is visiting I am pretty sure, Wisevol seems to think there is more to it than that.

Depending on what happens with Maymon we might end up with a decommit coming to us who is close to Fontan.

Who would be decommiting? Also, Skyler McBee becomes more unlikely to grab a scholly unless he starts shooting lights out. At best, he'd be a 3rd string SG next season.

Maymon has already signed his LOI. We can basically end talks of him.

We need another post player because Woolridge is not an answer.

ZJC he quit Marquette. Are you sure you are not talking about last year when he signed his LOI to play for them?

Chuck's Corner: The Truth About Jerrone Maymon

The rumors about his dad and academics are bad. That is why I was saying what I said about him playing forward. If he wants to play SG for us it will not be likely that he will be happy here either.

My bad. I saw his rivals profile and saw his LOI was signed. Did not realize it was last year's class.

My apologies. :hi:

But we do need another post instead of a wing.

I'd rather take Maymon over that kid. He has D-1 experience, was rated higher, and plays the same position.

I absolutely agree with you. Just rumor at this point, but check out air jamaica and see if he would fit the bill.

6'6 185? plays SF? We need a legimate 4-man to back up tobias and maybe be a starter in the future. I'm not a recruiting guy, so idk. I'm very happy with our guards/wings for the future. Woolridge is not a post. You can tell. Hell, idk what he is. We need to find another post.

I know we talked about him, but maybe Cothron. It's a stretch, but we need to put the full-court press on him. I think we would be an awesome get.

Unless they enroll in school in January, they would not be eligible next year.
