One of the best to wear the orange and white since I have been following Tennessee athletics regardless of sport. Both on and off the court the guy is a winner.

Perfect that it is being retired for the kentucky game. Big blue nation gets to watch a kentucky native get his jersey put up in the rafters and watch another Rick Barnes victory over Cal. Part of me though wishes they would have retired it when we played auburn at home last season or possibly another season when we play them at home. Would be nice to have Bruce in attendance for the ceremony

Well, well deserved. I remember earlier in the year there was a debate on here by some on whether or not Chris deserved to have #5 retired because he "didn't meet the requirements." I'm glad that argument is now moot. IMO, there are very few players to ever wear the orange and white that had a better college career than Lofton. SO happy this is happening.

There are few players whose highlights I could watch over and over and never get tired of watching them.

Lofton is one of those handful of players. Just an absolutely skilled shooter with an underrated defensive game too.

He certainly earned the right to be up there. Yay for Chris! I'll never forget his 3 over Kevin Durant against Texas at home and how the whole place exploded. And he's a classy guy, to boot.
