Do defenses respect the QB run on read options more if the QB is black?

Black or not, eyebrow or not, he is going to do well. Although, being born African American alone increases your odds of playing in the NFL by more than 13 times.

Helps him see the field....no distractions, no excuses.

Dobbs needs to learn how to slide on his keepers or slip out of bounds. Don't want to see the kid get injured.
Is this "black" term a football reference?...or does it mean that he's REAL SMART?...hard to tell with as all the hipster lingo going on nowadays :pimp_2:
He needs to hit the weights a bit more, he sure isn't phat! :)

1. The kid played well against a ridiculous Bama defense in a hostile environment. He showed poise and some good decision making.

2. I am assuming the kid has finally gotten some serious time with the 1st team this week. I wouldn't be surprised if he had more reps with the 1's this week than the rest of the season combined. This has got to help.

3. Butch gets it. I can only assume he is going to gameplan around Dobbs' strengths. Give this staff a week to scheme and you'd figure we'll see some playcalling that lends well to Dobbs' abilities.

4. Dobbs also should give us a little bit of an edge with the read-option. Apparently Dobbs is black - this is yet to be determined. I think he's just fast enough to make defenses pause - which is the purpose of the Read-Option.

5. The Mizzou D-Line is good, I get it. Our O-Line is great. If our O-Line can step up, I think Dobbs can take care of the ball and go to work against a suspect secondary.

With you til #5. Flip it. I think our OL is closer to very good, Mizzou's DL is closer to great.

I know I may one of the few. But Dobbs starting today makes me nervous....I actually would prefer Worley. He is more stable imo.

Still hope Dobbs plays lights out.

Hey, wait! I thought someone was pushing for 'Rocketman' as the moniker for Dobbs. Has 'the kid' been thrown into the ring now as an option?

Stable in as he shows up to a game..not stable as in being a good QB..right?

also helps his vision. like the saying goes, "can't see the forest for the trees and heavy eyebrows"

...is that how it goes??

I must admit I'm sporting some heavy brows of my own, my wife grooms though. :birgits_giggle:
