ND might be a surprise. They have a lot of returning starters, veteran O-Line, and a favorable schedule. The question will be how many games Weiss manages to screw up. I can see them ending the year in the Top 25.
These polls don't mean jack. But Ole Miss is not top 15 in my mind, and Virginia Tech is not better than Ohio State and shouldn't be in the top 10. Looks like the media is setting many a fanbase up for "sky is falling" local radio shows.
Sadly, its Florida and and a bunch of parity after that.
This is a growing trend. ESPN radio, Rivals Radio, I have heard with my own ears predict Ole Miss to Challenge for the west Title, and a few have said they will win in. Apparently everyone fell head over heels with them after their bowl win. The statement was made that they also have the best quarterback option beginning the season between Bama, LSU and Ole Miss.
I just don't see it, maybe I'm wrong. I think they are a top 25 team.... but I just don't see it.
Ole Miss is seemingly getting credit for 3 wins last year, it seems like, beating Florida, an LSU team with a bad D, and a Texas Tech team that doesn't play defense at all.
I completely agree. What Ole Miss accomplished last season was great but I don't understand the hype this year. To say that they are going to be good this year is one thing but to predict with confidence that Ole Miss will win the West over two very talented teams (LSU and Alabama) is just silly. It may happen and it would be fun to watch but I just don't understand the rationale.
