1 - Ralph Friedgen is far and away a better head football coach than Chan Gailey.
2 - Although there are many canidates, UCLA has got to get the nod for most overrated team in the preseason rankings.
3 - Nebraska's program is not on the rise back to its glory days, in fact it may have hit rock bottom.
4 - Clemson is starting its annual meltdown early this year.
5 - Miami will be a much better team when Kyle Wright graduates.

i discussed this earlier about nebraska, but giving a coach a contract extension at the beginning of the season, right before the meat of his schedule is not a good idea.

All I have to say is that Callahan lost 70-10 a couple years back to a Mike Leach coached football team.

Give Harbough a couple of more wins before you say he can walk the walk.

I think I will give him credit now. He called USC out, and beat them. Thereby accomplishing his main goal for the season.

No I didn't forget the Cardinals, they are high on the list as well but I don't think they would take a 40 pt. beatdown from Utah or a loss to the worst Golden Domer team in modern history.

Louisvilles offense certianly wasnt overrated, but i dont know if ive seen a worse defense, especially in the blown coverage department, ever.

stanford won't win 5 games. beating Cal would mean a lot more to the program and that ain't happening.

Beating USC-Gets you a solid week of national exposure.
Beating Cal-Might get you the number three story on Sportscenter for one night.

USC would have to give up football for the Cal game to have any national relevance, regardless of Cal's current (over) ranking.

No question, I guess i should have been more specific. I'm talking about alumni and fan support. Winning back the Ax (and potentially knocking Cal out of a BCS bowl) would create a buzz locally that stanford hasn't had for many many years. Their fan support is currently nonexistant. And generally beating Cal is the only thing they have ever really cared about anyway. Now why it's true that we rarely go after the same recruits (stanford recruits more nationally), that couldn't hurt either.
