Game 2: DECEMBER 20th. NEYLAND STADIUM 🧡 . The Vols take on a Heisman Trophy winning RB Ashton Jeanty and Boise State. Vols prove too much in their first playoff home game as they beat Boise State 35-17 to advance. Sampson out duels the Broncos stud RB as he goes for 170 yards and 2 TDs while Tim Banks and Co hold Jeanty to 80 yards total offense.

Game 3: January 1. Vols battle The BIG Champions The Ohio State Buckeys!! The Vols were 10 point dogs to the Buckeyes but Nico Iamaleava had other plans as he finally comes into his own: to the tune of 302 yards and 3 TDs
Sampson and Bishop kept the ground game honest with 145 yards combined rushing. But Cam Seldon - injured most of the season makes a huge game winning TD catch in the final minutes of the game. Vols OUTFIGHT the Buckeyes 24-21! James Pearce had 8 tackles 2 sacks and 3 batted balls all on 3rd down!
McCoy shuts down Jerimah Smith by keeping him out of the end zone!

Game 4: The Vols are hitting full stride coming into the semifinals against an Oregon team that has clawed its way back from losing its rematch with Ohio State in the BIG Championship.
Vols ROLL The Ducks in impressive fashion 42-18

Game 5: The first true National Championship ever at Division 1 level. Because the 12 team format is the first real postseason format true to the rest of the sport of American Football.
And this time…The Vols say “Hello again” to an old friend. The GEORGIA BULLDOGS are finally healthy and their defense has allowed just 20 points throughout the College Football Playoffs. But this isn’t Sanford Standium and Josh Heupel has had enough of Kirby Smart. Kirby is 4-0 VS Heupel headed into the game.
Nico keeps the Georgia defense off balance with his legs. Ethan Davis who has been used sparingly this season comes to life! 5 catches 80 yards and a TD. In the 1st half. Dylan Sampson and the run game were kept in check for the most important other than a few scampers by Nico on critical 3rd downs (ala Carson Beck in their first meeting).

2nd half: James Pearce Jr is playing like a demon and rocks Beck causing a fumble!! and Beck to leave the game. From there Heupel goes into hurry mode taking advantage of the disheartened Bulldogs and puts up two more scores both to Bru McCoy. McCoy has now scored 6 TDs in the College Football playoffs.
31-10 and the Vols 8 mins to go in the 4th Qtr. Georgia hits a bomb to Humphreys for 80 yards.
31-17.
Georgia gets the ball and drives to Tennessee territory with 5 minutes left! Rashad rolls left and is picked OFF by WILL BROOOOOKS!!
Tennessee with the football gets a critical 3rd down conversion with the swing pass to Sampson for a 50 yard gain!
