Did I hear right that there were 59 fouls called in a 40 minute game last night?

This is just one of the reasons I only went to ONE arena football game when they were in Nashville. Too much talking by the officials; not enough playing the game.

It was tough to watch last night. The officials stole the show. I say let them play it makes the game more exciting to watch.

The head of officiating was in attendance. Had to contribute to the heavy whistles. It doesn't help that we are sloppy and prefer a fast pace of play either.

Did you notice how Bruce held his cool? I never once saw him getting on the refs. I was doing plenty of it for him from home, however. :)

He needs to play nicey nice this year until the NCAA rules on the program and probably even beyond that.

The head was there scoping out the half circle under the basket to help with "charging" calls. They are trying to implement that in all arenas.

60 fouls actually. Hopefully the head of officiating won't be there tonight so the refs can call a normal game. The officiating completely ruined last night's game, absolutely terrible job both ways. I know there is an emphasis early in the year to enforce the rules as they are written but that was just awful. It made the game a boring, unwatchable mess and didn't allow either team to get into a rhythm. The game became a FT contest(68 combined FT attempted).

Was there a reason why? It was hardly a marquee match up.

I think they said on TV that the block/charge arc under the basket is experimental. He probably was monitoring its impact and chose Knoxville over any of the other NIT sites.

Must have been the same crew from Memphis/Miami Monday night. 58 fouls in that one. Wish these idiots in striped shirts would realize, no one pays to watch a free throw shooting contest.
