I don't know if all caught this tidbit, but the 1-5 ranked teams all played teams with 6-4 records this weekend

GA vs Ky - 16 - 6 win
OSU vs Maryland - 43 - 30 Closer than it appeared
Michigan vs Illinois - 19-17
TCU vs Baylor - 29-28
TN vs SC - to painful to type

We witnessed what a weekend in college football can do and all these games could have ended with totally different results.

All the top teams played like crap this past weekend.
Only one team failed to win.
I think Michigan and TCU were exposed.
OSU struggled to win.
GA just got content with holding the ball. This is really the only Road Test they have had.

And everyone else still has everything to play for.

Tennessee had a loss that could change the trajectory of the program.

I watched with a friend and during the game I said what worries me is that today is one of those weird days where many top teams struggle; but the problem is most of the time in days like this while all struggle usually only 1 ends up actually losing.

At that point in the game we were down 21-7 and said "None of the other struggling teams lost." And then we did.

Sad Panda.

Uh, if you think 5- and 10-2 with the loss to SC are the same, then you are blind as a bat.

One of those teams doesn't have the talent level of the others (with the exception of TCU). That's the difference. When you have elite talent you can have an off day and still win. We aren't there yet.

Almost as if a desired outcome occurred....

I say that in part because the officiating in UT's game was very suspect but also because of what happened in other games. The official contributed to TCU getting their kick off. He did not hold the snap to see if Baylor had subs like he's supposed to do.

GA did beat USCe 48-7 in Williams Brice though.
Exactly… an equally bad Florida defense held them to 6 points. TN has no one to blame but themselves for not showing up.

This wasn’t all of a sudden an epiphany where SC finally played to their potential. TN made it easy for them- and would have made KY , Missouri, or anyone else look incredible too with that lack of effort.

Not sure what or why it happened but that responsibility falls on the coaches to figure out.

Rattler did legitimately play out of his mind against us, but at the same time, I don't think we are well positioned to poo poo another team winning at Williams Brice this year after Saturday night.

Why our Defensive coordinator should be fired.
First time since the induction of the AP poll that a top five team gave up 63 points to a unranked team . That my friends is hard to stomach, most points EVER.

I wish TN had been exposed like Michigan and TCU had been instead of losing to Butch Jones 2.0 on his sandy aerated green field that killed an ACL and our season

UGA came from behind on last possession to beat Mizzou I think 26-22 that was more of a road test than the 16-06 W over UK.

Yep I was waiting on TCU and Michigan to have their first lost the way those games were going.

How quickly we forget what going 5-7 was like. It sucks we lost but this team is way ahead of schedule. We can count on one had the 9 win seasons in the past 15 years.
