In terms of sheer mind-boggling stupidity, this is more similar to Nu'Keese and crew with the airsoft gun at Pilot.
I think one of our signees from the early 90s went on a robbery spree in Dallas before he even got to campus. The dude committed on TV while sitting in a jacuzzi with about 10lbs of jewelry on and gold chalice in his hand. That guy is #1 in my book.

Wasn’t that the dude from Dallas Carter that played on the team from Friday Night Lights?

As we have seemingly put Phil out to permanent pasture, let us hope that UT is no longer a factor in the race for the Fulmer Cup.
That "Fulmer Cup" label was so dumb. It was started by Florida fans... who have never had any business throwing stones at other schools over off the field disciplinary issues and arrests. There has never been a bigger piece of trash to play SEC football than Aaron Hernandez.

If memory serves that name was coined in the early 2000s before Urban and his motley crew showed up. Phil's teams in that era weren't exactly made up of a bunch of model citizens.

There were many more model citizens, such as Heath Shuler, Joey Kent, Darwin Walker and James "Little Man" Stewart playing football for Tennessee under Phil Fulmer from 1993-2001 than there were players being arrested or making news for the wrong reasons. For Florida fans to pretend that they didn't have just as many arrests and embarrassing episodes, such as the brawl between Anthony Riggins and Darren Hambrick before the '94 Sugar Bowl vs West Virginia, isn't showing much self-awareness. I don't know what fan base would be qualified to throw stones from that glass house in major college football... but it damn sure has never been the Florida Gators.

Tennessee had 20 players arrested in a 16-month period between 2004 and 2005, and the name was coined after that. Every team has discipline problems at times but that was a nice little run we had. I do agree if you're naming the trophy today it probably should be named after Urban but it isn't, and the name stuck.

As far back as you want to go, Tennessee's problems have never been dramatically worse than Florida's. Maybe there are programs out there who have earned the right to look down their noses at Tennessee's tolerance of misdeeds from football players. Florida has never been one of those programs..
