Shekinna Stricklen scored a career-high 27 points, but it wasn't enough as Stanford's Nnemkadi Ogwumike tallied a career-high 42 points to lead #4 Stanford to a 97-80 win over the #6 Lady Vols.

42 points by one player! Absolutely embarrassing. Good thing Stricklen played so well or we would've lost by a lot more than we did. Stanford played great. They couldn't miss from 3 point range.

If Doodlebug had been diagnosed with a fairly common illness like my grandma, would he be accorded the pass that the women's bball team gets. The taxpayers are forking out a lot of money to be nice. If the mailman was delivering to the wrong house, I doubt he/she would be allowed to stay on for the reasons we are keeping our women's bball coach. I'm not trying to be mean, just observing a double( triple, quadruple) standard.

anybody think were seeing the last year of Pat?I do

Maybe, and I hate it as much as anyone. There is no way to predict how this disease will progress in her case. It hit my Mom and took it's toll within a month. It's different for everyone.

I think is her last year too.

I do agree cmelton7. there is a double standard of course PC plays a lot too. there is no doubt that she has put women's b-ball, but it hasn't recouped the money that is being paid out every year.

yes, this disease really can move fast through a person. if this is so, they have to go out and get a real name coach for this team. we have too much talent to let the assistants that are now there to coach them. either one of them will not be able to do the job it takes to keep u t a top 5 team every year.

Ranked number 6 in the country, lost to a number 4 team on Stanford's homecourt, a team that has one loss to UCONN.

What a stupid idiotic post to be honest. Now I know why ______ use to get so mad.

Caldwell will leave LSU and return home after this season. She has experience at UCLA & LSU as a head coach.

Tough loss last night but I don't really see how this is on Pat. UT has been short on elite talent for several years now. We haven't had a defensive game changer since Hornbuckle/Annosiki or an offensive game changer since CP3.

Pat got far to enamored with recruiting slow big girls (Baugh, Cain, Brewer) and they all had serious injury problems. Bjorkland could shoot lights out but she was slow footed and a liability on defense. Strickland is a lot like Scotty Hopson where she can take over a game one night and disappear the next. Simmons takes tons of ill advised shots and turns the ball over far to much for a guard. In addition she doesn't communicate well on defense. There's no reason any defender should ever blow by her on D but she gets beat quite often. Johnson is an absolute beast but she too much like Dennis Rodman. Great rebounding and defense, weak offense and too many dumb fouls. Finally and most importantly, this team has no leader. I've yet to see anyone on this team demand excellence from players that obviously don't have their mind right. They don't take ownership in the success or failure of the team.

Women's basketball is completely different from mens in that 1 player can change the entire game. Quite simply UT doesn't have a gamechanger and Baylor, Stanford, and several other teams do. There are also teams like ATM, UConn, Kentucky, Rutgers, etc that harrass you relentlessly on D and out hustle you. This UT team doesn't have an identity and hasn't for 2-3yrs now.

Excellent post. Btw, where has Taber been lately? The first few games she was lights out. She's practically disappeared since the Miami game.

In all honesty though, Stanford is ranked #4 for a reason, and last night we all saw why. They are a very good offensive and defensive team.

Stupid and idiotic is a person like you, who feels the need to sit behind their keyboard bashing others' posts. What you should say is that I am entitled to my opinion, but you respectfully disagree. I will afford you the respect that you gave me by letting you know that you can savor the sweat from my taint. Thanks!!!

Reminds me of a game in middle school for me. Our team lost 62-59. However, one player scored 56 points for them. No joke. Thats embarassing...
