1.) We still have a legitimate shot at a Bowl. Vanderbilt won over a beat up Florida team. Definitely, a winnable game.

2.)Who is going to be our Monday morning commit?

3.) Dobbs is definitely an athlete. He isn't the fastest, but made some good runs. He also has better armstrength than Worley.

4.) Palardy has turned it around big-time! Future NFL kicker right there.

5.) These losses are rough, but I am still thinking Butch was a good hire. These are some of the lumps that are just hurting. Next year we will be better, but still a ways to go.

6.) Maybe a few people need to step away from the ledge without knee-jerk reactions.

This staff is full of motivators and what I see is a lack of effort from the players because some of them are above being removed from the lineup because there aren't any threats behind them

Man if I was with you I'd buy you a beer (or glass of ice tea). You definitely can find the silver lining in that sea of dark sky.

Good insights. Still need to see more of Dobbs before iam sold as being the future but the raw talent is there. We know he's got a good head too....

Good point.

Too many players have a loser mentality, are too slow, and don't have anyone challenging them for their jobs.

I agree OP. Everyone seems to be forgetting that these players have been coached for 3 years by the football version of Buzz Peterson. Except Buzz was at least nice.

I have said this before, but there are 3 things I was hoping for coming into this year considering our talent, depth and schedule:

Signature win..... Check
Great class.... Check with top 10 likely
And the big one: a bowl game....... Still within reach

I can only speak for myself but despite all of the beat downs that are PAINFUL to watch, so far so good for team 117 and staff.

I have to agree with this. I honestly think we'll see an improvement afer a little player attrition. Sad, cause they'll always be part of the Vol family, but some of these guys have just gotten too used to losing or being behind.

Perhaps you are right more than we know. Butch harped a lot about knowing how to win. This team, and especially the seniors/leaders, just don't have any confidence. How can you blame them after the debacle that has been UT coaching and administration since 2008?

#3 is not correct. Dobbs does not have better armstrength than Worley, and is not really more accurate with his throws either.

I mean if you think about it that's got to be the only reason Justin Coleman starts.... though in this game I think we could put the true freshman secondary back there and we would've had the same results

Dooley's lack of defensive speed and recruiting of average defensive talent has been exposed against the teams with elite speed....it is that simple. Bare cupboard for this staff.

Malzahn got a complete cupboard thanks to Chizik's recruiting classes after their title run....which he even helped recruit for his system. Must be nice to land in that type of opportunity....Jones and company followed Dooley....enough said :dunno:

I thought #46 came in and played pretty good late. Not sure if he can play outside but maybe he can replace Sapp who has had several bad games in a row.

Yeah, they've been through a lot, but each position comes down to indivuals winning each snap.

Here's to an extra week to lick our wounds and regroup.
