6 Vols invited to the Shrine Bowl

Does anyone watch the Shrine Bowl?
I don't believe I ever have.

From a fan's point of view, these games are more important to NFL fans than college fans. They're really important to the players who are going to make a living playing ball, and good luck to this group. Back in the day, we regularly had around 30 players in the pros at a time. Maybe we're getting back to that level.

Also, it's been good to hear Tennessee players playing in the Sunday night game proudly say that they went to Tennessee. From 2017 to early in the 2021 season, it was more likely to hear a former player's elementary school than it was for them to acknowledge they played for the Vols.

Hooker gets an invite even though it’d probably be a flat-out miracle for his ACL to be anywhere close to ready. Shrine Bowl > Heisman.

Are those the guys with funny hats?

Or the ones that drive those tiny cars in the Christmas parade?

I think it will go the route of the now defunct Pro Bowl. Perhaps just a game of tag football in Vegas? Only subs will play, stars will sit out

Nobody watches more than about 5 snaps before flipping to a rerun of Coming to America, but it's crazy how many of these games there are now. Shrine Game, Senior Bowl, Hula Bowl, NFLPA, HBCU . . . and I think there may be a few more.
But no more Blue/Gray game....the King Classic (played on MLK Day) went away too.
Oooh...another one that went away...the Can/Am Bowl? I never saw it but I heard it was played one half under American rules and the other half under Canadian rules?
