1. Butch Jones is definitely sitting with pieces of good news in his pocket for a loss. Two Bad outings and we good big commits on the Monday after.

2. Dobbs came in and perform as well as can be expected for a true freshman. He set a record for completions in a single game for a true freshman. Though anytime Tennessee loses the backup will always be the biggest desire.

3. A lot of Vols fans have 0 patience. They expect Jones to be able to polish a turd and make it more than a turd.

4. His idea to give good news on Monday is working for me. I am already pumped about next years team.

5. Our secondary needs help. Like Evan Berry, Rashaan Golden, Todd Kelly, Cortez McDowell, Emmanuel Moseley, and D'Andre Payne kind of help.

6. Missouri was a painful loss, but see the change that they made from last year to this year is giving me a lot of hope for next year.

7. North is amazing. I am just going to plan on 2 more years with him.

I predict a big leap in year 2. We may be young next year, but I think Butch has a good balance of JUCOs and stud freshmen to upgrade this roster. I wouldn't be surprised if half the starters next year are fresh faces.

Isn't it amazing how after every stinging loss, Butch is able to get another home run commitment to keep the momentum going? It's as if the kids have been silents all along and their verbals are orchestrated by Butch whenever they are needed.

Good points. As for #3, are saying a turd is always a turd, or that is just takes a while to polish into something else?

First, I am not saying this team is a turd. I am just using the saying to show my meaning.

Secondly, Butch is building something much better than a turd.

Happy B'day Evan and Elliot

(I'm sure this had nothing to do with the commit date, they were merely pawns in the scheme for good PR)

Like a brick mailbox on the Farm Bureau commercial? :)

I was just joking before btw.

I'm excited to see next years offensive line,a line that wasn't groomed for a spread passing attack. It's painful watching every team we play get 5 yards each time they run, then we get stuffed behind the line of scrimmage most game.

How do you know how Johnny Football performed as a "true freshman?" He didn't play a down.

I think you are overstating number #5 . Impact is going to be huge due to opposing offensive coordinators saying: well if you complete bubble screen passes on this defense they can't tackle or cover in space. Seriously that's like 75% of a game plan taken away by putting guys on the back end that are a heck of a lot better than ok. Speed is the remedy for our defense.

Are you talking about the guy who won the Heisman as a red-shirt freshman?

I am still full Butch. However, these road game seizures are making me concerned.

To follow the OP's strange analogy, I don't expect him to polish a turd. I expect him to clean the bathroom. Unfortunately last Saturday night the coaching staff and about 90% of the players (who played) went in there and crapped on the floor instead.

So yes, I'm concerned that there is some degree of not-getting-it involved after all, which will completely go against everything I thought I knew about this coach.
