I'd rank the best Tennessee games I've seen in person as:
-- Bama 22
--UF 98
--Auburn 85
--@bama 95
--UF 90
--97 Auburn (SECCG)
--ND 90
--UF 16

The Penn State game in 1971 and the 1982 Alabama games would probably be 3rd & 4th in the ranking of best games in my lifetime. but wasn't there for either one.
IT'S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOL!! I'm sure there are others who have more stories than me. Saturday was my 10th time to see a Vol win over Bama so I must be older than dirt. I think it is my favorite, more than 1982. I've sat in the same seats for 47 years and went to games years before that. Seen all those home games except a few! I made 25 years without missing a home game but the cause of the miss was a good one - my wife was pregnant with my son and she was feeling lousy. I couldn't leave her alone so my streak ended with missing the Memphis game in 1992. Even while living in Chicago, I made almost every home game. I was also blessed to go to the Miracle at South Bend. Don't forget Florida 2004! Didn't make it to SECCG in 1997 but was in Phoenix the following year. My son was 6 in 1998 and I took him down on the field toward the end of the celebration after the goal posts had moved out and the melee had settled down. He's now 30 (both my kids and their spouses are UT grads, too) and was on the field taking selfies with football players on Saturday. It sure felt great to see Saturday's amazing game. I had quite the lump in my throat seeing all the fans covering the field. My throat is still hoarse today and Rocky Top is playing in my head. Glorious!

I was born in 91. My dad took me to a lot of games when I was young, but don’t think the 98 Gators game was one of them. I did attend the Bama game Saturday though. Greatest sporting event I’ll ever attend

Missed 82, was a sophomore in HS and had just moved to Knoxville earlier that year

Was at the 1998 game, and have a piece of the goal post to prove it :p

Narrowly missed this one, and kicking myself for not making a bigger effort to go

But I got a feeling some good games are coming

Edit: I was at the 1995 game. Not in Neyland, but very satisfying

My number one game has to be the Battle at Bristol. My home town had a bowl atmosphere and it was amazing lol

Anyone attended all three?

Been to all of the above, add in the 1985 Sugar Bowl against Vinnie Who, Jimmy Johnson and the 'Canes, in which Johnny Majors declared never has one game meant to much to so many and Kieth Jackson was amazed at the Big Orange Nation in the pregame, noting "Ooooohhhhhh, they've been saving themselves when the Dome exploded in orange shakers, add in the 1998 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl with Pearless Price reeling in two bombs down the same sideline and John Ward ended his football broadcasting career letting the world know that the 1998 national champion is clad in Big Orange.

The 2022 Alabama game is now in the epic category with so many other big Tennessee wins over the decades that will be discussed for generations, the tears streaming down cheeks in the old stadium Saturday night were simply the emotional acknowledgement that, in front of a nationwide TV audience and the national college football media, the underdog Tennessee beat Alabama on a last second field goal in a classic SEC battle and again, never has one game meant so much to so many and ushered in members of a new generation of Vol fans tearing down goal posts, who weren't even born when these pre 1998 classics actually occurred.

82 Bama - 10 years old, dad was reserve kpd and snuck me in, sat with strangers

98 Gators - TV. Living in Unionville, TN. Couldn't afford to go.

22 Bama - Vacation in the Smokey Mountains all week. Bought 6 tickets. Dad (76 now), me (50), my son (21), wife and sons girlfriend. Daughter couldn't make it. (Her ticket went to a recent Air Force Academy grad. )

Thats so awesome. I was lucky enough to be in South Bend too. That was the best away game ever. Wonderful people up there.
