That is the number the Department of Defense says it costs per year for a single soldier. This is the low end of the spectrum. The Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments estimates it takes 1.2 million.
Either way my tax dollars could be put to better use here in the states. It is time to leave Afghanistan and let them sort out their own problems and save American lives in the process.
