Hi all, please feel free to move this to... where, I dunno. (I don't usually wander in the OT forums. :))

Anyway, I'm thinking of getting my 87-year-old mother a tablet. She managed the transition from Windows XP to Windows 7 ok, but which would she probably do better with for mobile, Android or W8? I don't think an iPad would work, as she's always baffled by my Mac laptop.

She has a desktop (XP) and a laptop (W7), but the laptop weighs too much, and we're probably going to hook it up to her desktop peripherals and have it be her new "sit-down" computer.

I have zero experience with either Win8 or Android, so any experiences or other tales of adventure from either your own use or that of older relatives/ friends are welcome. :hi:

the iPad will probably be the easiest, no matter how little experience you have with Apple computers

Thanks. So the other two are so different from regular Windows that it's actually easier to go iPad? (I'm thinking of the intuitive things that we all do on one operating system, and then something else is completely confusing.)

I would 3rd the iPad. I've not heard anything good about a windows tablet and the Android interface varies by brand.
