According to Scout .com, the following players have signed LOI's and are committed Vols.

5* J Smith
4* C. Miller
4* T. Bray
4* J. James
4* M. Milton
4* K. Thompson
4* T. Meline
3* C. Fugate
3* M. Simms

The star ratings are the higher rating of either service.

Being and EE is the equivalant to signing a LOI, Athlete can't leave without sitting a year or applying to the NCAA for a waiver..

We will be alright NATION.. Things will work out and better we learn now than on probation 3 or 4 years from now..

STAY Positive in the face of adversity...

Only Thompkins and Simms have signed LOI's. Bray went to class and so did Miller so they are the only ones that cannot get out now. Everyone else is not bound to UT right now

EDIT: at least that's the majority of what I've heard. Hubbs was talking about it on VQ but I didn't read it

Hamilton said today in the press conference the 8 EE's that are here are enrolled at UT and will not be leaving.

TFWIW, but the sports animal is reporting that if the players were on campus as of 12:01 am on the first day of class then they are considered enrolled and can not transfer without penalty.

enrolling is akin to a LOI.

the mid term guys are locked in, unless they transfer and have to sit out a yr.

Thompkins and Simms signed LOI

lol TMZ (TIFWIW) reportedly said Thompkins was leaving but he must have forgotten that he signed his letter.

There are 9. Hamilton did not include Meline because he did not attend class. (RUMOR) However If you are an EE that is equal to a LOI, that is my understanding and that is what is listed on Scout.coms Tennessee prospect list. Please take the time and look under the LOI on this list..

They have been doing it for a while and I trust their reporting more than yours. SORRY!!!!

I'm thinking Willis is the only one who didn't complete enrollment. Everyone else did and would have to apply for a waiver from NCAA, go somewhere and sit out a year, or start going to class.

Non-LOI EEs can apply for a waiver.

LOI EEs CANNOT apply for a waiver and must be released. Hamilton said that would not happen.

So if Thompkins goes, he MUST sit out a year or go to a I-AA school.

How can thompkins sign with oklahoma, he has already signed with tenn?

If he was so in love with Kiffin that he doesn't want to be here, he can still transfer and burn up his redshirt year and still finish with two years at another FBS school (looking like OU) or he can transfer to an FCS school if he wants and play right away.

I don't see what the big deal is with the recruits. Look at the Basketball team. Playing walk-ons and 2nd and 3rd strings guys. Then they go out and beat Kansas and held Auburn to 18 points in the second half. It's not about stars but motivation and Dooley is a great motivator. I would bet there are 15 guys from this state alone who could walk on and make the team and be just as good as a 4 star recruit.

You don't see the difference btw those two sports?? My God, George Mason got all the way to the Final Four on some good breaks and a lot of heart. You will never see a story like that in CFB. You know why? 5 guys on the bball court, 11 FB. You absolutely can't win if you aren't well disciplined, well coached, and for big time FB well stocked with talent. Apples to oranges my friend

This is one of the dumbest things that I have ever read. Please do not waste anymore of anyones time or any more server space posting this senseless crap.

Reminds me of the "too heavy" Bud Light commercials. You can make a point without being a ___.

My apologies to 16peyton for being "too heavy", but if you don't think there is a difference in a team full of 2 stars and walk-ons and a team full of 4 stars and 5 stars then maybe you ought to become a Western Kentucky fan, or maybe MTSU.

And 11 is being generous. You have just that many on defense. That doesn't take into account all the special teams players, offensive players, plus you have several people subbing in and out.

In basketball you only have what 8-9 in rotation.

teams with lesser talent CAN and have beaten teams with superior 5 star talent.
look at Utah's win over Bama last year
LA Tech almost beat LSU this year and there are other Cinderella type stories. These are not only restricted to basketball.

while upsets happen, it's more difficult to run the gauntlet of the SEC with a less talented team. But if we can secure a few playmakers and rebuild the lines, then we should be in good shape. One or two key players on both sides of the ball can make a huge impact (Herschel Walker at UGA - we have Bryce Brown and a couple other quality RB's. David Palmer at Bama - pretty much beat us single-handedly, or tied us in one case).

Honestly, I think he was referring to teams like Cincinnati, Connecticut, Boise State, Utah, TCU, that have mostly 2 star players........
