He leads the conference in Free Throw Rate.

Free Throw Rate is simple: FTA/FGA. How many free throws you get compared to every shot.

For Maymon, his rate is 67.2. That basically means for every three field goal attemps, he gets two free throws.

He's converting at a pretty decent clip too, at 64.7%, top 30 in conference and major improvement from where he was (25% last year), and shooting 64.3% in conference play.

Maymon has shot more free throws than anybody in the conference, with 150 this year (5.36 pg for the year) and 98 in conference (7.54 pg in conference).

It also helps Jeronne is converting 57% of his shots on the field (60% in conference) while shooting and a big reason for that is easy buckets. Jeronne is averaging almost three offensive rebounds per game (2.857 to be exact), top six in conference, which is letting him not only get easy buckets around the rim, but more opportunites to get fouled as defenses are more likely to foul on offensive rebounds.

It's a great testament to Jeronne's work ethic. He's in much better shape and crash the board more effectively. Also, he's improved his free throw percentage by almost 40%. Also, one last thing, Jeronne did not shoot well last year, only 47%, which isn't good for a post player that plays inside 15 feet. This year, he improved that by 10%, his true shooting percentage by 17.1%, and effective shooting percentage by 10%.

So overall, while Jeronne has improved his game and his stamina, but is doing a much better job of finishing around the rim and at the line. It helps that he is stronger and you can tell by watching that he's using his right hand much more effectively, leading to a better conversion rate on his shots.

Effective Field Goal Percentage- Field Goal percentage adjusted for the added value of three-pointers by counting them as 1.5 field goals. For 3-pt shooters, this is a more fair measurement than raw FG%.

(FGM + (0.5 x 3PM))/FGA

True Shooting Percentage- This is the overall shooting percentage of a player or team including free throws and 3-pointers.

PTS/(2 * (FGA + (0.475 * FTA)))

He's a beast! He is a heckova athlete and has been very consistent for us. Great info on his shooting. It will be tough to improve this much again next year. Unfortunately, we will need others to improve as much to see us get more Ws.

He can definitely improve by others improving around him.

With a guy top 10 in TS%, eFG%, and the top FTR in the conference, he should be getting 15 shots a game. He's 29th in FGA, and is shooting 14.5% of the team's possessions. He's getting only eight shots a game!!! EIGHT!!! He's barely getting half of what he should get. Thankfully, he's getting 10.3 in conference play, but still nowhere near enough. And he's averaging 27.5 mpg, so it's not lack of playing time, and 29.5 during conference play.

I still think if he adds that consistent 15-20 foot shot next year to his repertoire, he will get NBA looks.

Very happy for Jeronne as he's a very good person and friendly as can be. Good luck te rest of the season Jeronne.

40th nationally in FTRate. Top 125 nationally in both D and O rebounding % as well.

74th nationally in fouls drawn per 40 minutes, with 6.0.

The guy is a machine.

I'm very excited about stokes and maymon in the post next year. I'm hoping we work very hard as a team at entry passes and finding ways to atleast get the post a touch almost evey time.

Our post guys are already so talented and physical, it's hard to imagine them being even better. They both need to get more touches though to really show what they can do in the paint IMO.

I don't think it's unrealistic to think we can have 2 15/10 guys in the post next year.

He is the backbone of this team. Would be nice to see him get 5-8 more shots a game. He could get 20 points a night if the guards made a better effort to get him the ball. Against Ole Miss the announcers said that he would be in the top 5 or so for FG percentage in the league except he hasn't attempted enough FG's this season to qualify. That pretty much explains this teams early season struggles in one little factoid.

Haha! What's his rebounding like compared to last year, going by his minutes? Can't believe someone said all he will be is basically a practice player.

Per 40 minutes, it's actually the same. He's averaging 12 boards per 40.

Another quick thing is how good he is of a rebounder.

His 21.3 Defensive rebounding percentage is third in the conference, and he's 6th in offensive rebounding percentage.

But according to Bruce Pearl, Maymon was not good enough to play ahead of Steven Pearl. Go figure.

Maymon didn't put forth the focus and effort last year as he has this year and wasn't here during the summer prior to his first year to gel with his teammates. His practice intensity this year is incomparable to last. Instead of throwing an unnecessary jab, why don't you just congratulate he and CM for getting him on track. SP played because of D and effort last year as Maymon wasn't interested, or was distracted by all the bs. Miller is sitting this year for the same reasons Maymon sat last year.

Lots of the self-proclaimed VN basketball "authorities" were way wrong about Maymon. A search of the threads when he was thought to be joining UT yields some hilarious comments about him.

He does all the little things as well, he sets the best screen in the SEC. He may get away with a moving screen from time to time, but he lays it all out there

Still hard to believe he played behind SP last year.He has either improved beyond belief or the whole year was lost to stupidity
