A bunch of NFL scouts were there last night

With CP? You betcha.

I doubt they were impressed with CP. He is too immature. He was running bad routes, called for a pointless unsportsmanlike conduct penalty (lack of discipline), and did not attempt to tackle a defender on an interception. I do not call that impressive. Sure when he gets the ball in his hands he is great but he does not know how to do that well enough yet. He will benefit from another year.

Anyone who tells CP that he is an early round draft pick is delusional. He is very talented but he's as raw as they come when it comes to running routes as a wideout. He absolutely needs another year. I hope he is mature enough to realize this and he will keep his academics up in order to stay eligible. If he leaves now he'll be drafted as a specialist and will be limited to fielding punts and kick offs.

I think he should benefit from another year but I think he bolts. The prospect of dollar signs and no more classes will appeal to him. I would think twice about drafting him. Too many issues at this point.

Bryce Brown would disagree with you all.

Bryce Brown had all of the talent in the world and wasted it. Getting a few carries in the NFL is nothing when he could have possibly been a top draft pick if he would have stayed in college for at least three if not four years.

I wouldn't throw much at TB, CP or especially JH at this point. With some maturity and intestinal fortitude all could be great... but each has some significant deficiencies that will prevent them from being drafted high. All would benefit from a year under a good coaching staff.

That may not be the case in the NFL. He could get paid a lot more money if he stays another year and develops his skills as a WR. He has tons of potential.

No I mean he slips through EVERYBODY'S hands. They spray him up with PAM before each game.

Being a return specialist is not that bad when you have skills like CP. Hester seems to be making pretty good money for just that considering he was just a return guy his first few years. I'm not sure CP is on the same level as Hester, but he sure looks like he's just as elusive and just as fast. He has great vision. I see him as a mid to late round steal, especial as important as special teams is in the NFL.

So you would encourage him to leave instead of staying one more year and hopefully become the player he's capable of being? The difference between mid round and 1st round is millions!

CP=1st or 2nd round. you take the chance on a guy like that if all he lacks is route running. you can teach that. you cant teach making 11 guys miss on one play. the dudes good.

he could be a 3rd round pick and he will be gone, he came in from juco just so he could get some exposure. its already been discussed his grades are so bad he would have been ineligible for a bowl game. how do you think he would make it in another year of school at ut? his intentions are obvious and his level of play are more than enough to get him drafted after this season.

When cp goes to the combine and runs a 4.4, jumps 40" vert, measures 6'3.25 at 225, he is going to skyrocket. Late second at worst. Probably won't slip by the 49ers twice or the colts twice. Look back at the last few drafts and see the late 1-2 guys. Big, fast, with potential. The possession guys don't go until round three. AND, contracts are now short and condusive to development for rookies. A 3yr/2mil contract doesn't push a coach to put a player on the field like the old 6yr/50mils did.
