The NIT Season Tip-Off is, along with Maui, the most prestigious early season tournament in college basketball. A good argument can be made that taking home the hardware in the Garden this week would be the biggest regular season accomplishment in program history.

I would say that and reaching #1 in the polls although it was for a game basically. It would be big to beat 'Nova or UCLA in The Garden for the NIT.

There has been some great basketball being played in Maui. Much better than we've been playing. If the same happens in New York, we'll be going to yet another tournament without bringing home any hardware.

If we do we will need to show more than we have so far, we still play as individuals and not much as a team

Tennessee was shut out last time they played in the Garden. Tennessee had a younger team, though.

After watching Kentucky and Washington last night, TN will have to play much better to compete with either of those teams. The defensive intensity was tremendous for both teams.

Agreed. Unfortunately I do not see us winning this tournament. I would not be surprised to see a lose tonight.

How do you see the game playing out? TIA

So as long as we stay away from too many turnovers we should win? Doesn't sound so promising since that is this team's weakness.

Not to mention the chance to pick up a quality win or two for our NCAAT seeding.

Thata way to think positive. Forget the whole "we could step it up" factor.
