First off, the Defense was great. I have no problem with the D.

I have not been a Sanders fan for sometime, but I have tried to bite my toungue and see how things developed. But no more, the orange-colored glasses are OFF! :furious3: I can handle losing to a better team. I can handle losing when something catastrophic happens (losing your starting QB, and putting in a guy that hasn't taken a snap yet). I can NOT handle complete ineptitude and stupidity.

This coaching staff can definately recruit, nobody doubts that. Over the past few years, our talent has actually increased. But we must have one of the worst staffs in the nation at DEVELOPING talent. Most of the players that come here play to the same abilty from the time they step onto campus until they leave. This is meaning more and more mediocre results (almost losing to UAB, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss in the past year). If you do nothing with the talent you recruit, then recruiting is worthless.

Last Night, the entire offense and special teams looked completly inept and ill-prepared for the game. The onus for that comes back squarely on the shoulders of the coaches. THAT IS THEIR JOB! The offensive strategy was boring and vanilla, we again ran the same 8-12 plays that we have ran for the last 8 years. This falls back on the coaches, THAT IS THEIR JOB! We had numerous occurances of players not knowing what to do in certain situations. This falls back on the coaches, THAT IS THEIR JOB! We had numerous occurances of the wrong personnel on the field at a given time. This falls back on the coaches, THAT IS THEIR JOB! We had many players making horrible decisions, showing a complete unpreparedness for a given situation. This falls back on the coaches, THAT IS THEIR JOB!

If I don't do my job, I would be fired. Sanders and Caldwell are not doing their job, so they should be fired. If Randy Sanders and Steve Caldwell are not replaced at the end of the season (or before), then other changes should be made. It is time for those responsible to take accountibility for their actions. :realmad:

To Sanders and Caldwell: :censored:

I agree with you.. So many fans come to Sanders' defense saying it's not his fault the players didn't execute. They need to execute better blah, blah, blah. I believe that a better gameplan or scheme will give our players a better chance to execute more efficiently. The scheme is where the problem lies. If the defense knows that I'm going to throw the ball probably 80% of the time to the sideline and we're not going to take shots over the middle this makes their execution on defense easier and more effective in stopping us. We have to be that much better than everyone in our execution because like Fulmer and Sanders admittedly say "Everybody knows what we are going to do. It's their responsibility to stop us." I believe this is what is killing us when we go up against similar talent on the field. You can throw the sideline pass to Hannon, Swain, etc.. against a inferior team talent-wise and the receiver is going to be more likely able to make the defender miss, get around him etc..but when there's similar talent on the field, this plays tend to fail. This is why Florida was able to take Clausen out of the offense and made to look ineffective so quickly. Florida came up and played bump and run on our receivers daring them to throw those. I thought more than once that one of their defenders was going to break on one of those and take it the other way for a TD. Tennessee doesn't have to be a gimmicky offense that runs trick plays all the time, just a little more imagination in their play-calling. After watching Urban's offense I was not that impressed and I can see where it will sometimes struggle against fast teams such as ours. On the other hand though, their misdirection play where Leak was running the option left and handed it off to Caldwell coming back across the field was a great call against a very fast team and it caught us off guard going the other direction. I don't consider that a gimmick or trick play. I call that being smart and innovative and taking advantage of a fast-pursuing defense. Remember, Florida was also going up against an equally fast and talented defense. So they weren't also going to be able to line it up and take it straight down our throats. Our coaching staff needs to stop being so stubborn and conservative and catch somebody off guard from time-to-time instead of this bull-headed thinking of "THIS IS TENNESSEE. HERE WE COME. STOP US IF YOU CAN." because we can all see what this mentality is starting to do and will continue to do to our program.

The number one problem with the offense is CHEMISTRY. We have none. One QB is going to have to play and develop chemistry with the WR, TE and offensive line.
