There are lots of posts wanting the BIG ORANGE to copy something another team is doing or has done. It might be an offensive scheme, a play choice, the pros and cons of a 3X4/4X3 defense, or even uniform colors. I am not much for bandwagon copying, but I would like to see a game or more each year with multiple colors! I watched some of the USC/UCLA game on replay TV. Both teams wore "home" uniforms. For some reason, the SEC has chosen to forbid that. LSU often wears white at home but never 2 "home" colors. I would like to see UT in ORANGE vs So Carolina's black, 'Bama's crimson, KY's blue, Candy's black/gold, etc. The original logic was based on black and white televisions! Isn't it time we moved past that?

I like light and dark. It's easier for me to watch the games. I watch soccer and if the colors are close enough it's hard on me to differentiate.

If the away teams home colors were a light solid that would be fine with me.

It also helps the officials when the colors are dark/light. I officiated several sports for years and in soccer we always had 3 different shirts in case we conflicted with one of the teams.

Honestly, Bubba, I could care less what we wear. I just want us to compete, and hopefully play for the SECCG and National championship again.
Not sure I would want us to go all Maryland, though.:)

SEC hasn't forbidden it. It's allowed as long as both teams agree to it.

IIRC, Kiffin wanted to do it for UT-Bama but Saban nixed it.

you do remember correctly

we used to do this with bama - home orange versus home crimson

Kiffin wanted it to rekindle tradition - Bama said, "why would we want to do anything Tennessee wants to do?"

In the Chick-fil-A game against NC State, they wore red we wore Orange. I thought it looked pretty cool. Johnny used to talk about the old days of UT-Bama before TV concerns, and how cool it looked.

Give Saban a second to think about it, he might change his mind this time.

Everyone understands that we all want "wins".... OP was just trying to get conversation about uniforms and tradition. Why does there always have to be someone drop in and "bottom-line-it" for everyone ? There is room for conversation about such things as Tradition, Uniforms, and Familiar goings on...without the constant "win now" (even with no game at hand) crowd busting in. Just saying my piece. Let this Board have it's fun !
