I've mostly been chasing down coaching rumors. I haven't really talked recruiting with anyone.I only read the first part about UT, but it sounds pretty good. Pearl showed he can change his style. Now he has to show he can get players to consistently play to their potential.
Have you heard anything new about Selby to add? Is it looking good?
UTEP was pretty set on Tim and BCG wasn't that fired up about going back. Houston refused to give Clyde assurances that they would upgrade their facilities, so those negotiations fell apart. He passed on them, not the other way around. He might have to take another year, but I wouldn't be shocked if DePaul made a run at him.Hat, how did Gillespie not get hired by UTEP or Houston? Is he going to have to sit out anther year?
If DePaul is really committed to building a new arena, yes. Clyde has good connections in that area from his time as an assistant at Illinois. He'll also have Tracy Webster, who is bigtime wired into the Chicago scene, as an assistant if he goes there. Is Depaul a good fit, as far as facilities and recruiting base? I thought Gillespie's connections were all in Texas.
If they go forward with the plans I've heard about giving automatic bids to the regular season conference winners, I can't see why the NIT would continue to exist.I'm against the expansion to 96 teams too, but I'm guessing that those games will make more money than the NIT. Is the expansion intended to finally do away with that tournament?
