The first myth that I would like to address is that Jones can't coach a defense. Although his background is on the offensive side, the defensive numbers have been significantly better than ours during his tenure. And before you reply that it was in the Big East, just remember he had Big East talent on D. 2nd myth.....that he can't recruit. 50th is nothing to be ashamed of at Cincinnati. The numbers at UT should improve dramatically. By contrast Urbans last class at Utah was 76th. 3rd myth....the staff pool isn't enough. The 3 million is the MINIMUM we will spend and I'm sure we will go higher
I know this thread has gone long. The short message is this. Everybody calm down
This could end up being a very good hire. And is definitely better than what we had.

His recruiting rankings, defensive statistics, and record against (2-1) are all better than the guy that the majority of this message board toted -- Charlie Strong.

Also I'll add...if you're an offensive coordinator you know a lot about defense. If you don't... then your prolly not a successful OC.

Another myth is that Tennessee can't win with a dual threat QB and that dual-threat QBs are the new thing. Dual-threat QBs have been around forever and UT has had lots of Success with them.....

Swamp Rat
Holloway
Alan Cockrell
Shuler
Tee Martin

are a few!!!!!!

Don't forget Tony Robinson. He was special before the injury and everything that followed. He was special.
