I have no problem with Wilcox, I actually really liked him.

Year 7 for Wilcox may be his last. He hired a Sonny Dykes protégé in Jake Spavital but Cal is relying heavily on transfers and freshmen this year.,

Wilcox is too high on that list. Cal doesn't give 2 ***** about football. If he goes 4-8 again, I bet he's on the hot seat going into 2024, but if they almost make/make a bowl game he'll stay.

These coaches end up going to these crappy schools and then fired after 2-3 years. They get their golden parachute though. Being a fired football coach is one of the most lucrative jobs you can get

Wilcox can coach defense. Our defense was good when he was here.

Cal is just not a place players want to go. Small market, never the feature game in-conference, even when there was a conference.
Outside of Jeff Tedford's very good seasons, it is a football wasteland.
They are Stanford or Wake Forest level football.

It tells you all you need to know about Cal that they ran their best coach of all time out on a rail in 2012 because his football graduation rate was below 50% during the early 2000s, and they had had a losing season.
