A goodbye to Nico

Hate to say this but kids a moron. The difference bwhween 2 and 4 million this year is nothing compared to the money he will make in nfl if he lived up to his hype and how much the connections here would pay off after his career.

He did this because this is his only shot at big money. just don’t think he pans out in the nfl. He wasn’t a freshman last year like people acted. He had played in the bowl game previous year and was practicing all that year. It was obvious in 24 the speed of the game was too much for him and he couldn’t put the ball in tight windows.

I won’t call Nico a bust. He’s just not at a truly elite level yet. Him and Arch I believe are the only QBs out of that 23’ class that have really contributed to their programs, and Arch hasn’t played a whole season yet. However, you have to respect the hell out of Arch for being a team guy, and seemingly putting his head down and trying to earn it. I think Arch claimed he’s not taking any NIL money until he earns it. Respect.

I’m disappointed in Nico, but more so with this father and family. TN gave Nico millions as the one of the first NIL recipients. TN caught slack for paying a high school kid $2 mil a year. We went to court last yr and help changed the landscape of NIL and college football which enable Nico to remain eligible.

And now he pulls this 💩 a wk prior to portal and day before spring game. TN is now scrambling with Nico receiving 1st team reps in offseason.

And I’m confident Nico has a deal in place. Not sure who but Oregon, UCLA, Colorado, Texas tech and USC are possibilities.

It wouldn’t shock me if he ends up with a blueboood like Ohio State, wins the heisman and a natty. 😝.

I just hope our Vols have a great yr so we don’t have to hear the “Nico crap.”

I think it all came down to his dad thinking he could play a high stakes game of Chicken and win. I honestly believe that Nico‘s family had no concept of the possibility that UT would call their bluff.

I would say Eli Holstein who was #9 Pro-QB in the 2023 recruiting class is contributing & developing fairly well. He originally signed with AL, redshirted then transferred to Pitt in 2024 where he won the starting job. He was having a great year before concussion & lower leg injuries ended his season early.

In 10 games leaving three early due to injuries, Holstein's stats:

In 13 games, Iamaleava's stats:
