A legal drinking age...perhaps a legal parenting age needed?

Yeah...I saw that! She is old enough to drink but yet she is not near responsible enough or mature enough to have a child.

age has nothing to do with being a good parent

It may have a little to do with it(experience), but for the most part you are correct. I only set the title up that way because the woman was out drinking while letting her baby die this way. I obviously am not for government being involved in the reproductive process, that would be too Chinese of me.

my parents were 21 when they had me, they have always been very good to me and my brother. age really doesn't have anything to being a good parent

Age really doesn't have anything to do with it. It is more or less the maturity level of people and whether or not you are ready to grow up.

you would have to agree that older parents tend to be more mature and have more life experience. Wouldn't that tend to make them better parents on the average?

well don't flip the switch. just make her dress up in sweat pants and a sweat shirt. lock her inside a car in this hot weather, w/ no air, and no water

The switch and the rope is too easy. She needs to be made to suffer like she made her child suffer.

I agree, but the chair is the closest legal method to the way the child died and to send her to her maker.

nothing? no relation at all?

and this is why I try to avoid absolutes :p

it might but there are plenty of middle-aged (or older) who are in no way more fit to have children that 15yo. Creating an arbitrary age for having children solves nothing. Plus, how the heck is it ever enforced.

Maybe it's sheer numbers but there seem to be plenty of child deaths/serious injuries that are caused by people of "legal age".

I in no way meant to imply that just because you are older means you would be a better parent, just that the on average they would be a lot less likely to make such idiotic mistakes like this one in question.
