-last year i was able to witness the first COT race won by Kyle Busch in person at Bristol.

-last fall race they had the worlds largest card stunt which landed them a spot in the Guiness Book of World Records. i was there.

-Sunday we will be be witnessing Dale Jarret's last official points race. sure, he'll return for the all star race, but this is it for DJ when it counts. i never was a fan, but i'll have no problem standing and cheering this weekend.

-last Sunday i had the good fortune of being able to say i saw the first win for Toyota in the Cup series.

these are just a few that come to mind as far as recent historical events. i'm sure there's many more i can't think of or don't realize right now.

anybody else have anything?

My witness is not so good.
The first race I ever went to in person, Dale Earnhardt Sr
died.

Since this is Bristol week let's start there:
Was at first race held in 1961 won by Jack Smith-my Dad bought his excup car and ran it in Sportsman div.
Was at first race held on concrete surface.
Was at first race ever won by Dale Earnhardt.
Was at first race ever won by Ernie Irvan for Morgan/McClure, local team.
Was at first race ever won by Terry Labonte.
Was at first Indy 500 Roger Penske won with Mark Donahue driving in 1972.
Was a corner worker at first race USAC ran Indy Cars in the rain Mid-Ohio in 1980. It was Tim Richmond's first race on a road course.
Was at Darlington in 1967 when Cale Yarborough won his first race.
Was at Eldora when Steve Kinser won his first King of the Outlaws race late 70's.

In regard to Dale Jarrett, he has followed well his father's footsteps, Gentleman Ned Jarrett. It is time for him to move from the driver seat to the broadcast booth where he will be a welcome addtition.

Thank God he retiring instead of continuing to be a moving road block - If only he would stay out of the broadcasters booth....

Compared to the schmucks at all the various networks, DJ and Petree are a breath of fresh air.

I agree, my only thought is DJ needs to get over the "uhs". He throws one in almost every sentence. Surely he will get some coaching about it. It just may be me, but I find this distracting and just slightly less annoying than the "you knows".

I was at Charotte in '94 for Gordon's first win at the 600.

Also happened to be in Atlanta in '98 when Gordon tied the King's record of 13 wins in one season, which also was quite possibly the longest rain delay of my life.

And sadly, was at the very last race in Rockingham.

Totally disagree Dooz! They're boring as hell, Mike Joy, Mcreynolds, and Waltrip are much easier to listen to. They're knowledgable, exciting, and show passion for the sport.

Now Ned and Dale would be great at broadcasting golf!

If I want to hear the English language being butchered I'll down to the nearest redneck bar or elementry school.
