When Charlie Strong decided to stay at UL, most of us were shocked. When UT turned their attention to Butch, most were skeptic. Since then, Butch's passion for this program has shown through and gives credence to AD Hart decision.

Now tonight in light of what UL is doing to the gators, I am even more confident. Why you ask? It's as simple as 1,2,3.

1) In three games against Charlie Strong, Butch is 2-1 with the only loss being an overtime loss.

2) The idea that game plans and great coaching turn 3* into 5* in no more evident than in tonight's game. While Florida has finished with highly ranked recruiting classes, over the last four years, UL classes have finished 78, 49, 29, and 42.

3) while I don't believe that the lack of recruiting success UL has had will cut it on the SEC on a weekly basis, I believe that Butch's passion and vision will continue to attract big time players (be patient with this class and rank). What may be missed by most is that he will also bring in grinders. Players that will fight to the end and will give Tennessee their all. Those are the players he is trying to find now and that will make the difference next year.

Once success and excitement is back next year, Butch and his staff will reap the benefits of their hard work as more of the top players will migrate to Knoxville. As those players come to Rocky Top, they will be joined by grinders.

Yes tonight is more validation that the future of Tennessee Football is bright.

GO VOLS.

Answer: A>B>C - Jones>Strong>Muschamp - called the transitive property - since we have have a math guy as offensive coach, it may just apply.

Florida was ready to play for a national championship, this was a let down bowl so to speak. I'm not reading much into it, but Butch has outcoached Strong twice.

Early, it looked like Florida was more interested in jaw boning and strutting around after a tackle, and Louisville was there to play a football game. At times the Gators reminded me of the Seminoles of a few years ago. Coach Strong had his team believing they could win and had over 30 Floridians on his roster with a grudge, and by the time Florida realized it was not going to be a cake walk it was too late.

What does Louisville beating Florida have to do with Butch Jones and UT?

Jones, with less talent than UL has, took the Cards to OT AT L'ville. Strong with less talent than Muschamp has dominated UF.

That suggests that Jones is A) a much better coach than many here seem to want to admit and B) he does more with less which could be a BIG deal at UT considering some of the recruiting disadvantages.

Yeah... good logic. Getting the coach that used less talent than Strong had to beat Strong 2 of 3 meetings and to take him to OT at home in his lose is DEFINITELY proof that UT is getting the "wrong coach".

You are just incredible with your creative negativity sometimes.

Louisville beating uF 2nite can easily fall into the same catagory as Bst beating okla and UGA, and any other solid mid-major caliber team having a month to prep and coming out wanting to prove something.

I'm staying cautiously optimistic. I have no idea if CBJ will be worth a crap on the field but I like his personality and has made a good impression on me so far.

Doesn't make it a good situation, though. Both walked into terrible situations, UL's being worse.

What? Butch Jones walked into a terrible situation? He took over a program that had played in two BCS games in the previous three years. If you like Butch better that's fine. But saying that he took over a terrible situation is ridiculous.

OP pointed it out, Jones was 2-1 against Charlie Strong. Only loss was in OT this year.

Charlie Strong beat gators. The logical conclusion is that Jones will bring us back to relevence.

He took the reigns of a program very similar to what Dooley inherited. Coach just walked out the door. Staff just walked out the door. Graduating quite a few and then players started changing their minds about both staying at Cininatti and attending Cincinatti. It was a rebuilding project, and he successfully rebuilt.

GO VOLS! Welcome to Knoxville CBJ ... here's hoping you can do it here too!

What was Louisville's record when Cincinnati beat them?

You're saying that taking over a 12-1 BCS team is the same as taking over an SEC team that had taken two years (and two different coaches) to get 12 wins?
