i feel compelled to post this thread with the recent decommit from demarco cobbs. i have heard the full spectrum of responses from vol fans on this kid. from the 'i can't believe this' to the 'didnt see this coming'(which i didn't) and finally the typical 'who needed him anyway' or 'his loss'. regardless, i am still fully confident in this staff's ability to secure a wonderful class of great recruits for 2010.

but the point of this thread is not to praise this staff, it is to point out that these recruits are 17 and 18 year old CHILDREN.

this means that they will make impulse decisions and change their minds alot. we will live and die off of this staffs ability to mold these kids into great players and, more importantly, great young men... not who signs on the dotted line.

finally, expect a few more decommits and even more players who will want to be Volunteers. national signing day is a long ways off.

GO VOLS!!

I think we will end up with a top 5 class and i think most of the players will not be the type of hooligans that has been signed in the past. I think most of them will be around for their entire college career.

You never know how 17 and 18 year old kids think. It's amazing at how fast they can change their minds. You get some, you lose some... It's part of the recruiting process. You guys will be fine, don't worry.

Is that Cobbs decommited due to some huge prospects (steals) that may be coming our way. One of which is a 5 star on Rivals.:rock:

The one thing we learned from the '09 signing class was this staff will get it done. We will have guys decommit, and we will get some guys that we weren't expecting. I think CLK and staff have several silent commits and we will be pleasantly surprised come February. Top 5 class and building.

I have all the confidence in this staff to pull in a very good recruiting class. Even if we don't get a top 5 class, this staff knows how to coach 'em up to play like 5*'s. Look what they've done with the present talent. This is not to say that these current players are not great young men. Taking the offensive line for instance, we have two walkons, and a player who'd never played the position before. This staff has done wonders with them. They're not all americans, but good, solid players. The future IS bright.
