I am really looking forward to the UT-Notre Dame game as what may be the best objective indicator of where the SEC is this year when it comes ot the national scene. Can one team blow out the other?

If UT solidly beats Notre Dame, that would seem to lend real credence to the argument that, should one of the SEC's two undefeated teams emerge from the SECCG game at 11-0, then that team deserves a shot at the national title.

If Notre Dame wallops UT, going to add to the claims of those out there (and they are growing in number) that the SEC is as a conference very overrated.

Going to root hard for UT in this one.*

*Which, by the way, may mean you are doomed.

LG1, I for one believe parody riegns. I do not know if you listen to Collin Cowherd on ESPN radio, but he continually makes fun of SEC fans for their staunch, sometimes lunatic defense of the SEC. (That is certainly not directed at your post)

I will go on record as saying that USC would be out of one or two NCs if they played in the SEC, but I think the talent accross the country may in fact stack up. It has taken me a while to get to this point, but just look at the Houston/MSU matchup last night, or what ASU did to LSUs defense.

Top to bottom SEC is tough, but it is not head and shoulders above the rest of the big conferences.

I hope CPF plays all freshmen and sophmores for the rest of the year. I do not care if we win anymore games. Also, we need to loose bad at South Bend just to spite UGA and Bama. :realmad:

Here is the problem with that, you have a load of Seniors that have given their soul to UT. I agree with you in theory, but it is not Fulmer's style.

That kind of thing can kill a kids spirit, and eventually hurt recruiting. This is one case where I don't fault ANY coach. Those kids have made sacrifices to play, so let them play.

I would like to see us play a half way decent game against South Carolina first. If we have any chance (and I don't think we do) of beating Notre Dame, it's going to start with beating USC like a drum.

I keep thinking back over our losses and it's just a shame. I keep thinking...what if we had an offense that was just as good as our defense.

I don't know how they're going to do it, but Fulmer and company better find a way to beat South Carolina badly and then go to Notre Dame and get revenge for last year.

(Its not over until its over) lets play the games. No high school football player will even think of comming to ut if less than the max effort is given in the next few games.

The big question is can Brady Quinn move the ball on UTs Defense. This will probably be the best defense he will face all year.
