Bruce Pearl has a good scheme going, and a good group of kids who have bought into his system. I think he is going to do well. I just hope the Tennessee fans will be patient. They have the right coach, but I just hope they give him the opportunity to get some kids here. In a couple of years he is going to look to win. He is going to look to win this year, but Pearl is going to be a perennial coach to win the SEC championship."

I am very impressed with Coach Pearl. I think he is going to EXCEED expectations if he's given enough time.

The A&M coach it it right on the head when he said UT fans need to be patient. Bruce has won everywhere he has been and being in the SEC will allow him to get better athletes to play the pressing up tempo style he likes. Give him two years and we'll be in the Kentucky level where we should compete for the SEC title yearly.

The UK fans around here view UT's loss to OSU with opinions like, "so much for all that talk about UT being good this year." That was just one loss. Give Pearl some time. I think UK fans will be ambushed when they least expect it.

How many losses does Kentucky have?

Kentucky's lost 3 games already, but to be fair, they've played a much tougher pre-SEC schedule than we have.

And we will own Kentucky someday. Just not this year. I think we can force enough turnovers and score enough points to at least compete with almost anyone, but ultimately, bigger, more physical teams (like Kentucky and Florida) are going to pretty much score at will in the paint.

With comments like this flying around about BP getting other kids, some kids, his own kids, more talented kids, etc.. in here, the kids he has will either give up or play their butts off. I for one am glad to see them playing their butts off. What a treat it would be if they make the dance this year against the odds and preseason expectations and despite being the "wrong kids".

Be very careful. You are starting to sound like a KY football fan. When UT has a slow start, they come out of the woodwork hoping that this might be the year that they come through and beat the Vols. I will go on record as saying that UK is my second favorite BB team, and rumors of their demise this year are greatly exagerated.

Pearl is exceeding expectations, and I would love nothing more than seeing UT basketball come into prominence. The Cats nor the Gators will ever roll over and die for them.

I think the difference is that we actually do beat Kentucky sometimes in bball....they never the vols in football...We also at least split with the gators every year

I thought you were wrong on this but looked it up. For the last three years, anyway, exactly right. The teams have split 1-1 regular season. Can't locate whether they have played again in SEC tourney for 2003, but they didn't play in the 2004 or 2005 tourneys.
