Man, I know you were sick over that one.May day. May 1st.
When an opportunity to go to the ball park arises, I always think of May Day. Many years ago, a twenty-something year old TXBO was sitting in a clients place of business in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I was in the final days of a project when about 10:00am the client walks in and thanks me for the work I'd done. To show his appreciation, he invited me to a baseball game. We would take his private jet, fly to Dallas, see a game and relax a bit. Being a young, greedy, assertive ****, I choose to stay, complete my project and move on to the next one. That night, as I settle into my hotel room, I caught the last 3 innings of the game he was watching from three rows up behind the batter. May 1, 1991, Nolan Ryan threw his 7th no-hitter against the Toronto Bluejays. I could have been there.
Think twice before you miss an opportunity to go to the park,

In some ways your story reminds me of the scene in "Good Will Hunting." Robin Williams talks about missing game 6 to spend time with his future wife.
I get it, and I could have made the same decision back then as well. I actually have a friends wedding that I missed because of a job. They are still married and I lost touch with them. Still regret the decision.
May day. May 1st.

If you had the power to decide the outcome of all games by not going would not the Vols be 41-1 right now? Sports superstitions are stupid everyone’s team would be undefeated if fans had that type of power. Fans always say “I am not shaving until they lose/win” guess what your facial hair has no effect on the outcome. For the sake of the rest of the season; I may stick to streaming the rest of the season.
Good things can happen at the ballpark. When students at UT, I took my then-girlfriend to a game. Either Connor was coach, or it was real early Delmonico. UT was bad. It was a very early in the season game. It was bitterly cold and snowing during the game. There were more than twice as many people in the dugouts than fans in the stands. I thought to myself, wow, here's a girl sitting with me in the snow at a baseball game- that's special.
Last night we celebrated a milestone wedding anniversary. On the way home from dinner, she asked if I wanted to go to the Tennessee game. She gets me. I checked the score, it was in the 6th, and we got nowhere near that mess of a game.

I know these midweeks are killing me. I got tickets to the Belmont game coming up in May. I didn’t have a chance to watch the Lipscomb game but do we usually play backups or something during the midweeks?
