WASHINGTON – The senator overseeing Barack Obama's swearing-in ceremony said Monday she's writing to Internet sites like eBay asking them not to sell scalped inauguration tickets. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., also said she's crafting a bill that would make a federal crime of selling tickets to the historic event Jan. 20.

I heard a blurb about this and it indicated that the tickets are distributed through Congressional members. If so, any that are sold should result in immediate dismissal of that Congressional member - no way they should make cash on the inauguration.

the cash will never be traced back to them...many "staff" members will take the rap

I think that the staff actually get allotted tickets as well...or at least are given them by the members....that is actually who a lot of the scalpers are targeting...

I don't have much of a life, but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money to see a politician make a promise he or she will never keep.

I don't know why anyone wouldn't want to go. It's going to be a triumphal parade that would even made the Caesars green with envy.
