Its not particularly ground breaking news to anyone outside of the Big12 or for that matter Aggie Nation, but Mike Sherman is our new coach and I for one am 100% behind it. The speculation and all the drama about how our AD Bill Byrne didnt look for very long put aside, this guy has an opportunity to fit quite well in a program that is in need of a serious tune up. I am so proud of this senior class for beating the sips on Friday, thus going 2 in a row against our "rival", but change was needed. Fran has a pretty sour stigma that will follow him from College Station and to be honest, oh well. Im not going to help the guy pack, but Im also not going to bash him for his off the feild activities. What he did was pretty dumb, but Im not one to harp on a guy who no longer has anything to do with the outcome of a game at Kyle Feild. It would be like picking on RC Slocum for some game 1000000000 years ago. Whatever.

In short, I wanted to say to all sports fans on the boards that I am doing the unprecedented. I am going to support my coach 110% from day one without ANY reservations. With all the coaching jobs available now, many fans will be forced to choose which side of the fence they will be on come "Announcment Day". So with that in mind, if your happy with your coach, great! If he's a new guy, support him. He probablly would appreciate being recieved warmly in a place that will analyze his every word. If you hate your coach, it seems like there are plenty out there looking for a job. Go shopping.

So heres to:

Coach Mike Sherman of the TAMU Fight'n Aggies

0 losses at Kyle Feild!!! :toast:

gig em.

Byrne has been looking since Oct 12. Why isn't that enough time? Aggies don't really believe that coach Fraud just agreed to a $2 mil buyout and resigned within a couple of hours after the game do they?

no not at all. Byrne began making his short list a long time ago. It was certainly complete by the time that Texas Tech beat up on us in that dust bucket they call a stadium. Although many Aggies are not as, shall we say, "astute", as to how these things work out, I dont think anyone expected to see Fran here after losing to the biggest drunk in the Big 12. I was glad/surprised to see he helped the University out by folding up his tent prior to our bowl game though. That might be the single classy move fran made. Well, that and he did beat the hell outta the sips 2 years straight!!!!!

I think that it was a great hire. Mike got bumped from Packerland as a result of making something passable for football with a very young team. Hoping he can make a good name for himself in College Station, and stick around for a while.

Good football man, though, and very happy to be there. Fran always seemed to be happy to be there because he was being paid handsomely, more than anything else. He did have a recent touch against the T-U hippies recently, though

You are dead on about that. Fran will be lucky to see that kind of money again. I dont hink it'll ever happen. He might want to consider a SMU job or some Alabama JV program.
