Since Pili went down it has mostly been the Carter and Telander show. But recently, Jalen Smith has been receiving more and more snaps. Against kentucky, Smith received as many snaps as Telander and came out of the game almost leading us in tackles and was the highest graded linebacker.

So BOLO #39 out there, we may have just found our next star linebacker.

Telander keeps making wrong reads and leaving huge holes for the opposing rb. That’s probably why.

Does he? This is the first I heard of it. Where are you hearing/seeing this?
That’s my opinion from what I’ve seen. The last really blatant instance was Kentucky’s big run to open the game. I’m sure there were more I’m not remembering. I went into a blind rage after the first quarter.

Yeah he got sucked in big time on that play. He’s chose wrong a few times now and it’s really gashed us. If he can just stick to his assignment a little longer and not bite so quick he will be fine

It wasn’t even him 😂😂 just cause a poster says something happened don’t just run with it. Go back and watch for yourself. It’s clearly Carter who wiffed on the first run.

Defensive Grades (minimum 13 plays — 20% of defensive plays)

LEO Josh Josephs — 79.0 (39 plays)

LB Jalen Smith — 78.3 (34 plays)

A few young defenders had really nice games for Tennessee. Redshirt freshman Jalen Smith, sophomore Daevin Hobbs and freshman Boo Carter all turned in their best performance of the season against the Wildcats.

I've expected this. Same highschool as Nkemdiche, Owen Pappoe

2021: Earned all-county and all-state recognition after he set a Grayson single-season record with 173 tackles (107 of which were solo)
