A New Name In the Search For New Lady Vol Coach article

So yeah, Caroline Peck, rumor of the hour. I really like her as an announcer, and she does have an NC, but she worries me in much the same way KJH does. Spotty record, especially in her most recent outtings. What just happened with her at Vandy?

Peck does have some moderate star appeal, and apparently a pretty good agent to get the glossy, polished-up spin on her resume in the linked article.

The real news to me is that PF is really going to Tampa. Would he go to a FF we're not in for any reason other than as part of the coaching search? Are there meetings or something? If he is there to interview, the search is more widespread and exciting than I was currently thinking.

I could be wrong but I think a lot of coaches are going to be in Tampa for a coaches convention.

Thus far, Fulmer has proven that he will not be rushed. I think he truly tries to look at all options before making a decision. I hope he talks to Jolly, Peck, and Lawson. If nothing else, he will likely ask their opinions about other coaches, etc. There is simply no reason to think he won't come up with a very good candidate in the end.

Agreed!
Everybody gripes about CPF. 1st is was he can't find a FB coach, well we got a good one. 2nd he won't fire HW, well he fired HW. Now he can't find a WBB coach, on and on and on.

Good grief everyone needs to STHU and let CPF do his freaking job as he has proven in 14 months he certainly can do!

Thanks for the advice but we decided earlier on another thread our gripes have zero impact on CPF's ability to do his job. He can and will whether we STHU or not.

I confess to not giving him enough credit for actually firing Holly and apparently under tough circumstances. That does give me hope. Most of our griping is actually just a coping mechanism in case we get disappointed again. Been a rough few years for us.

Come on VolNation, be more media savvy! I just read this report. It is a big vague nothing burger. It does not say that UT has expressed interest in or has contacted Peck.

It just says "she has become a candidate;" Translation, her agent is signalling to various bloggers that she would be interested.

Given her implosion at Florida, I seriously doubt Fulmer has a mutual interest.

Just asking. Has any big names been floated ? None that I can find. Is CPF willing to pay the $$ to get what the LADY VOLS program deserves. Waltz said he's staying, Lawson said she isn't interested. Who has coaching experience on the top level that will leave where they are? In other words, who is tuff enough to whip these girls into shape. ..?? Its time for a boss

Could Fulmer be asking her of advise on prospects? She has experence on both side of the game, sideline and booth. I'm sure she has seen in more depth coaches as an announcer, than Fulmer has. Having that insite could be really helpful and Fulmer may have confidence in her opinion on "matters inside the game" that he is surely is not well veresed on.

I hope Fulmer is going to Florida to interview coaches still competing. That would be Kelly Graves and Kim Mulkey. Muffet & Geno would not be interested. Before you bother typing nasty comments on my hope - remember - one can dream.

Why would anyone already coaching a successful program want to come in and take on this entitled group of princesses?

I don't get it. We fired a coach with a couple of trips to the Elite 8 so we could interview a bunch of coaches who were fired from lesser programs with worse results? If we're just changing to make a change, why bother?
