When the SEC voted that a school can not SIGN more than 28, I believe that meant that you could not SIGN and place any over that number.
However, UT has shown it cares very little for NCAA rules, so why would they care about SEC rules?
Are you sure about the JC guys?
This whole rule thing is so flipping confusing.
yes, they signed in 2009, didn't they?? so they were 2009 recruits, back=counted.........we had extra spots, bc/ we only signed 22, last year, i think.......u can sign up to 25.....
so it goes like this::
1. sign up to 25
2. 3 sign and place (28 total)
If you sign less than 25, then u can back-count some J/C's if they come in before the next year......that's my understanding......
Ok, people.
25 is the max amount that can matriculate in any one class per the NCAA in one year.
If less than 25 did matriculate last year, then, yes, Early Enrollees and JUCO players can be "backcounted" up to that number ( AS LONG AS THE 85-RULE IS NOT EXCEEDED).
However, the new SEC rule states that the maximum number of guys that can be signed in any one year is 28. Considering that this rule was created to account for the massive amount of signing and placing that was going on, I am pretty sure it means you can SIGN only 28 players in one year. It most likely does not include guys that can be back-counted, but it definitely means sign and place guys.
We will sign 30 kids. 2 will be back counted and not count towards this years class and 3 will be signed and placed.Ok, people.
